Although basic, these are very nice rack pads for the money. The foam is really stiff and this comes in a 17 inch length. The outer shell is heavy duty nylon and has a solid velcro strip along the entire seam. There are two pads per package. The color Haze is really the pattern of green and blue stripes and white Dakine letters on a navy blue background. It is quite attractive and the picture does not do it justice. These are meant for round profile racks. The section of the foam is 3 inch outer diameter and 1 inch inner diameter. I made this fit on larger 2 inch ladder rack tube steel and the velcro has just enough purchase to make it work. These rack pads are meant for something like a paddle board and would be awesome for that. I am using this for a canoe and do not have much of an expectation. I would eventually have to replace the foam at some point in the future. The design allows you to do that as the outer shell is removable from the foam inner. MSRP is 25, but got this for half that price.

It's everything you'd expect from a piece of foam pipe insulation wrapped in a patterned piece of nylon and velcro'd together. It cuddles around your load bar and sits there, waiting to fulfill its destiny Then, when you put your board on top of your car, it rises to the occasion, gently padding said surfboard against the horrific hardness of the load bar. When it's not padding your board, it rides on top of your car declaring to the world "Here drives a surfer." Or, something like that.Also works with paddle boards, kite boards, and sheets of plywood. Do not eat.

These fit the bars on my ladder rack, but it took some effort to get them closed up. I finished them with a zip tie on each end for extra insurance, since the Velcro did not get 100% engagement. If these were just 1 inch bigger to accommodate a heavier bar, they would easily be a 5-star product. The cloth is nice and heavy, and the foam nice and thick. I plan to leave them installed, though, even through the winter just because they were difficult to put on due to the size.

Looked great but had to return because the velcro didn't quite make it around my 2.5" wide Toyota Highlander rack.

All I needed these for is to haul my kayak and I didn't just want to put pool noodles on. The bars on the rack that I have are 2" and round, and it was a stretch to put them on but once I got them on they were perfect and I can push my kayak up onto them and they don't twist or budge. I have only been using these for a week but they seem to be made of decent quality.

I bought this product and when I received it the pads came without any instructions on how to install the items properly. The pads have a cover, and that cover cannot be taken off so you can get the inner padding or 'pool noodle' over your racks first, which is almost impossible to do with the cover on them because the ends of the covers don't allow for the 'pool noodles' opening to open up and go over the bars on the end. The pads barely fit over my less than 2.5" wide rack bars. Also a tiring effort when you are trying to balance on your feet from the inside of a door opening on a tall SUV, standing on the edge of the seat balancing yourself, and you are 5'3", this is almost dangerous. Every time I would get one side of the pad on my bar, it would slip off by the time I went around to the other side of the car to secure the other side of the pad, and this circus representation continued until an hour later when I was FINALLY able to get the cover's velcro to stick enough to keep the cover from coming off on one side so I could address the other. I feel like an idiot repeating this vulnerable experience, why didn't you stop at 15 minutes in you ask? Because I am a tyrant when it comes to these things. The pads flew off. End of story. This product is not for everyone's vehicle, I would not buy them and look like a moron trying to put these on, never again.

Pads are great, but this is my second set of these and the color fades very quickly. My truck is parked outside, but these literally started fading within a week or two. Pic shows fading after one summer. These started dark blue and are now a very light purple color :(

I've bought many of these over the years and these ones are right up there in terms of quality. Wider than I was expecting (complete coverage of the roof bars on my Audi Q3). They seem expensive but you're not just paying for the brand, these are actually excellent quality.
