it fit well and working. Homedepot didnt have this part in stock because its pretty old. mahe sure you clean all the parts before reinstalling the cartiage

Others had noticed this also, so I wasn't concerned. It took replacing some of the original hardware to get everything to fit again. but it was perfect from the getgo. No more leaks!

We have really hard water in Denver which cakes into the shower valve and cartridge and hinders sealing and reduces longevity. Including the one that came with our flipped house, this is the third cartridge our shower valve has had. Though Glacier Bay is cheap and crappy relative to Delta, Moen, Pfister, etc., I believe it's actually the water we have. At any rate, this is a direct replacement. I used a touch of silicone lube ("Superlube") to lubricate, preserve, and ease insertion of the cartridge, particularly on seals. I hope this helps with sealing and cartridge longevity. I first used vinegar and a blue (non-scratching) 3M scrubby sponge to remove as much as possible of the mineral deposits from the inside of the bronze shower valve before inserting the new cartridge. Local plumbing supply shops charge more than double for this cheap part. I love to support the local guy, but not at over a 100% premium. Buy it here because even if you can find it elsewhere (not in HD locally for example), it will be way overpriced.

This part fit like butter into an old shower valve body. It was leaking away and we went in and swapped it quick snap. Tenant was happy with the timely repair and everyone was back to normal quickly. Would recommend to anyone looking for this type of replacement part.
