When I switched from clay litter to pine pellets, I needed a new scoop, so I bought three, and this is one of them.Here is the comprehensive review of all three:Purple (Litter LIfter): Pros: very sturdy plastic, slim size is easily stored anywhere, slats are wide enough with a little shaking the pine pellets fall right through, excellent for after I fully switched from clay to pine. Even though I mostly use the white one (below) now, I also really like to use this Purple one to 'stir' the litter in the sifting pan to get the pellet breakdown (from urine) to go through the sifter without having to shake the whole pan. Cons: not as handy during the transition as it was a bit harder to pick up the clay clumps.White (Depets scoop - this one): Pros: also sturdy plastic, has a built-in 'hook' so is stored easily on the litter box side, has a bit of a curve to the scoop sides which allowed ease of picking out clumps during the clay to pine transition, slats are wide enough with a little shaking the pellets fall through. Cons: not really any.Black: (Catit): Pros: does allow pellets to fall through when shaken, but because they are round, it's not as effective as the other two scoops. Cons: big rounded design makes it bulky for storage, plastic feels fragile and I'm afraid it will break if bumped much (I ended up donating this one to a thrift shop).So that's it: White 5/5, Purple 4/5, and Black 2/5.

This scoop is small but works well to sift out the solids from my pine litter box. The hook on the handle is too small the rest on the side of my Arm and Hammer sifting box, but thats no biggie. I will use this till I can find a suitable stainless steel version.

Doesn't work perfectly but it's a good option if you use pellet litter because the holes are bigger than the average scooper

This is what you need for scooping pellet litter - the pellets go through these holes, leaving the waste behind. A regular scoop just won't work. Hangs by the hook on the side of a waste can if you want.

I ordered this on Tuesday. Amazon promised 'next day' delivery - Wednesday. Thursday - shipping label was created. Friday - start a cross-country journey. Arrived on Monday. Ok, shipping ___ happens.It's half the size of my regular scoops. The handle is short. The scoop is small. Yes, the little hook fits on my litter box. Yes, the pine pellets mostly slide through the scoop. It's flimsy. I won't buy it again when this one breaks.

Makes cleaning 3 litter boxes f 3 fast-growing kittens,quicker and easier.has a cute hook ,that fits on my small trash can, next t it,in bathroom. Don't think it would work, on the Cat Genie shovel holder.But I only have 1 pan, that has enough room for the holder anyway. Did I say it is cute?.Also my kittens are big now, 5&6 mo.'s,.If smaller kittens, waste might fall through the wide slots.

I recently adopted a polydactyl cat who made a huge mess with regular litter. I switch to Oko pellet litter and it was taking forever to scoop with my old scoop and I was wasting a lot of the pellets. This one had good reviews for how it was with the pine litter so I gave it a try. It scoops Oko litter super fast with minimal waste.

Purchased to use with pine pellet litter - scoop works as expected, but is smaller so it takes longer to clean the litter box.

I changed to wood pellet litter so the old litter scoop holes were too big. This one is the perfect size to clean out the "litter". Recommend
