This remote filter adapter leaks. I tried two different filter types and they both leaked at the filter to adaptor point. Very frustrating experience.

I put this in line with a transmission cooler and screwed a temperature gauge sending unit into one of the openings of the remote filter mount kit. I'm using a regular oil filter as a transmission filter. Everything works perfectly, though I may need to omit the factory cooler under the radiator, because when I'm in traffic the temperature rises rapidly, due perhaps to the water heating up. I'll update when I find out the results.Update: I removed the factory/radiator cooler so the transmission cooler alone cools the fluid. Yes, it does cool better; obviously the water radiator heated up the transmission fluid when I'd stop at a red light--contrary to many of the comments I'd read that the factory radiator cooler needs to be connected also.

Too bad I can't give it a zero. Bought this about a year ago to use on a VW bug. Just got the engine together yesterday and started it up. Used a Motorcraft FL1A filter, leaks between filter gasket and bracket mounting surface. Took the filter off and tried another one, same thing, leaks! It appears that the hole that the 3/4-16 nipple threads into in the bracket was not threaded perpendicular to the filter mounting surface because the filter is crooked when tightened up 3/4 turn. No, I didn't cross thread it. " Made in USA" I can get junk like this from overseas. Of course I can't return it because I bought it almost a year ago. Into the scrap bin.Update - I contacted Derale and they said Amazon has to honor their one year warranty period. So Amazon took it back for about a $6 "restocking " fee. The replacement works great, no leaks. It's a quality casting and I can use the two extra ports for oil pressure and temp. senders. So I upped it to a 4 star because of the first defective one but they honored their warranty. I would buy another one.

Nice fit and finish. Love that it actually came with instructions. The inlet/outlets are 1/2" NPT. I adapted it to my AC VW oil system using brass 1/2NPT-1/2Flare fittings. sealed it with Blue Monster. Not a drip of oil leaking.

Great quality product. I had read several negative reviews but purchased anyway.Works perfectly for my application, parts washer filter, I’m sure it will be great in any application it’s intended for. Plugs, fittings, threads and machining were all spot on.

For now i give this diaphram kit one star, because the threads were bad in one of the ports, and it wouldnt keep a seal. Filled out return stuff, have a replacement coming. Hopefully it wont be faulty.Being “made in America†i expected a better quality then what i recieved... if the second one is bad i will soend the extra 20 at Summit Racing and get one made in china that wont leak.Will update review once replacement comes********Got my replacement in today, all four threads are filled up with burrs. Not even tapped 100%. I went and purchased a matching thread chaser to clean them up, seemed like it was going to work.THEN, fired up my truck and within one single minute- have yet another 8-10†diameter puddle of oil.Completely dissatisfied, cant get a refund only “credit†theu amazon- yeah like i want any more junk shiit from amazon!
