Great product but do your homework before ordering. If you visit the Derale website you will find the manufacturer makes several versions of this product with a little research I found this one item number 15715 would allow me to continue using the factory size oil filter I have this one installed on a 1997 Toyota Tacoma and a 1999 Toyota 4Runner both equipt with the 3.4L V6 anyone who has had to change the oil on this engine knows how messy and difficult it can be this kit solves the mess and makes for a convenient filter change the new filter mount fits just below the battery box on the inner fender well. I was impressed withe the overall quality of the kit and it's components, plenty of hose was provided and all required parts were included in one kit. If you want to go the extra mile you can use "Gates Power Grip Clamps" These will eliminate the ugly hose clamps that come with the kit the correct size required for this kit is "Gates 32922" you will need 4 of these clamps for the install there is a great YouTube video to show how to install them. Although these power grip clamps are not required they make for a factory looking install. Looking forward to the next easy oil change

I needed to relocate the oil filter on my old simplicity mower to accomodate a new engine of different configuration than the original Vanguard twin. This worked perfectly. The MFGR was no help at all, they said it was meant for cars. Well, it worked for me after modification.

Installed on 04' IS300, I have big hands and it is almost impossible to reach the oil filter on 2JZ engines and i had finally had enough!this kit was pretty straight forward. Do the little bit of installation of the Aluminum barb fittings, make sure you have the hoses to the right in & out ports. Then install the nut with the clip on the engine side screw everything together and mount in your location of choice.DISCLAMER: this thing will vibrate when body mounted! the reason the $150+ kits mount on the transmission is to dampen the vibrations, install it on the fender and I can hear it by my pedals which I dont mind for my application because the lexus is too quiet for me anyway. just be aware.

I ended up with the setup I wanted. Ports coming straight from the adapter because angled would not have room.I chose the remote mount with straight ports also so the hoses go down and the filter mounts upside down. And no, the position of the filter has nothing to do with drain back when the engine is off. If the filter has a valve it works in any position.I added a Tee and schrader valve on the inlet side of the remote mount so I can empty the filter into the crankcase before removing it.My complaint is the fitment to the engine is not clear. There are product sheets on Derale web page for each model. Check your filter thread size (probably stamped on the filter by the thread) and make sure it matches the model you have chosen.

This does not fit a 454

Replaced engine in my zero turn mower. I upgraded to one with an oil filter, thought it would be a good idea. The engine fit perfectly except you couldn't unscrew the filter because of the frame. This worked perfectly, relocated the filter to the back of frame. Only drawback was the hose barbs were plastic and I couldn't stop them from leaking. Bought some brass ones and no more leaks. Used Oatley Fastape teflon tape so I wouldn't have corrosion problem between brass and aluminum.

Machining on this is sub-par as hell. Got about two to three threads in before the aluminum fitting galled up and seized. Checked the oil filter tube adapter, and it was slightly under sized as well, requiring entirely to much force to spin down the oil filter tube. No way do I trust this thing to not leak under pressure, so I sent it back for a refund.Never had issues with Derale parts for electric fan conversions, and I'm disappointed the rest of the product line doesn't carry the same quality.

Okay product i think with the exception of the straight barb fittings, worm gear clamps, and the price. The barbs seem to be a thin aluminum material. I had to use 90 degree fittings and better clamps thus the high price disagreement. I installed this oil filter relocation kit on a 22hp predator engine. It worked as intended with no leaks.
