I am absolutely delighted at the value and performance with this tool. It is so easy to make precision cuts on 20 gauge metal studs, plus it will cut just about any other steal bar, rod, and rebar that I need cutting around the house. I initially bought a sheet metal shear to cut metal studs, but I sent it back and got this chop saw which is FAR more versatile than the single purpose shear, plus it's much less expensive. The tool is relatively light and can be one-handed around with ease. The clamp works perfectly, and I like the chain that holds the saw in a carry mode when not being used. All in all a great tool.

A+ does exactly what I expected. I also bought a 12" Concord WCB1200T60-P blade for this saw. It uses a standard 1-inch arbor and the blade installed without adapter. This model has the solid metal blade retention system which does not have the problems inherent in the more expensive model with the quick release (plastic) mechanism.I especially like the flip-up worm thread engagement for the vice bolt. This allows for very rapid width adjustment of the vice, without having to endure tedious turning of the adjustment bolt. Lift the engagement, roughly set the position, drop the engagement back onto the bolt threads and fine adjust from there. Cuts are square, and the vice is adjustable. The platform sits flat and does not wobble. There is a hex wrench storage place in the base which is out of the way. A nice touch.

Works well and seems to be robust. Cuts square tubing and angle iron with no issue, bogs down on plate if you don't stand the plate vertical. I have had good luck with Dewalt tools and this seems like another solid purchase.

I bought this to replace a cheap HF chop saw I bought for half the price, and it was worth it.PROS:This has a thermal cutoff switch to prevent overheating when pressing too much. Wish my last chop saw had that. The construction is decent, and the cowling is better made than my last chop saw.It has a nice rubber gasket lined hole for the allen wrench.CONS:None that I've found.

Its an abrasive saw and it works good for my home shop. I don't use it professionally but it has cut through everything so far no problem. I can't speak for the life of the blade yet though. One nice thing is it doesn't have the annoying safety built in like some, the one that locks it in the upper position unless the saw is running. So it is easy to pull down to ensure you are cutting in the right spot without starting the saw. Also has a built in carry handle with a chain to lock it in the closed position which is nice for moving it around. The quick release on the clamp is also nice.

I was debating getting the Dewalt or the Harbor Freight model, because I don’t cut steel that often, but I wanted something that would last. The Dewalt was twice as much when you figure in super coupons but at HF you have to pay for a one year warranty and they will not cover anything without a receipt in hand even when new. Plus I own the entire Dewalt 18v tool set and have never had an issue with any of them but an impact drill that needed gears after 8 years of abuse. More important I have had a DW705 mitersaw since around 1995 and use it often and never an issue, love that thing. Being similar to a miter saw I know in my heart the Dewalt was the only way to go. I bought and love it and have found it will easily cut through anything if you don’t force it and let the tool do the cutting. I also considered Porter Cables chop saw but the Dewalt handle style is far superior I played with both side by side at Lowe’s. I recommend it highly for a home shop

I have been hobby welding for over a decade, and previously used (and abused) a Harbor Freight chop saw. When "old orange" finally died, I knew I needed to upgrade.Things I like:The locking chain to keep the saw closed for storage. The wrench holder so that you don't have to scramble around looking for one when you want to change and angle.Motor has been sufficient to cut steel square tube, and flat stock without any issues. Doesn't seem to get hot.Accuracy is decent within its designed parameters - it is a CHOP SAW (more on this later).Guarding is good and does not seem to get in the way.Clamping mechanism is better than the cheaper chop saws.Things I don't like:I feel like the pull down travel could be deeper - when the saw wheel gets small 45 degree cuts become impossible.Base paint is already wearing where the guarding hits it.Reading reviews for this item I am not sure that people understand the accuracy for something like a chop saw. What accuracy are you looking for? Do you know? I feel like many of these people complaining would be better served by a horizontal band saw or something similar. For the majority of my projects I need 1/8" accuracy - if I need more than this it is machine tools time. I can achieve this accuracy for most projects with this saw if I take my time and mark my steel well. For those complaining about shooting sparks and stuff: it is an ABRASIVE chop saw. Yes, it is going to produce sparks. And it is going to be loud too.I am very satisfied with my purchase of this saw, it is definitely an upgrade from some of the cheaper saws on the market.

Dewalt makes a great tool line. Works awesome, Design is well thought out. Delivery was on time, packaging was good. Product is brand new. Very happy with this metal chop off saw.

Great product works well! The blade is quite flexible so end cuts do require a different blade. Thanks.

Great tool for any DIY user, I used it to built two welding table with 2 inches tubing including a quarter inch plate bracket. I did not experience ant issue during the project, it cut and do the job like a more expensive tool. I will recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable shop saw.

It's a chop saw. Pretty straight forward. It tripped the circuit for one of the plugs I tried it with the second I pushed the trigger but thankfully worked on another one which is typical of something rated at 15A.The only complaint I have isn't for the saw itself but that it was delivered in the yellow dewalt box and just left on the front door step for everyone passing by to see. At least we live in a good neighborhood.

I try to cut some tubes and did not made a straight 90 degres cut, I' m doing a better job with my grinder with a cutting disc.
