I don't know what it is but my cats are just the messiest eaters and drinkers! I needed a mat that was big enough for two large stainless steel bowls and had room for multiple cats to eat around. This helps to retain water spills and keep it from going all over the floor! It's the perfect size and is very durable because the cats claws haven't even made a nick in it! It still looks brand new! And it's super easy to clean

Use this for my cats food bowl, it doesn’t let the bowl slide easily and I love that I can clean or wash it.

purchased this mat in conjunction with a "splash less water bowl" .... the biggest concern was getting a mat that didn't slide around when the animals would drink from the bowl and try to push it around. It works great for that on my LVP flooring. the small lip/edge is great for keeping the bowls from sliding off the mat.

This is perfect for the gravity water bowl I have. My cats like to play in the water and this has just enough of a lip to hold it in. Easy to wipe up any messes. Cute design as well.

Happy with the quality. Unfortunately the bigger size was not available as I would have gone for that as my cat is quite messy while eating. But this mat itself is good!
