We’ve got an Anatolian Shepard/Great Pyrenees mix with a thick double coat, and this works great with line brushing. If you don’t know how to use it right I can imagine it wouldn’t work great (people are idiots) but used correctly it’s great for getting at thick undercoats and separating any tangling near the skin. Easy to use and hold, and it’s just the right width. The metal doesn’t meant when a bit of pressure is applied, and it gets down to the skin if you use it right.

This is the best comb and rake for my Bernese Mountain Dog. The teeth are long enough to to reach to the underlayer of fur and it is wide enough to cover large areas in one swoop. My dog actually liked me brushing him (usually doesnt with other brushes) it was very relaxing for him he actually fell asleep. Its very comfortable to hold. It removed lots of undercoat and tangles without any discomfort to my dog. if you have a BMD get this product for your dog!

We have corgis. They shed constantly but “blow coat†twice a year. It then you see tuffs of fur that you can pluck.We have tried combs, rakes, one with a razor and a knobbly glove. Either you get some fur or you tug on their coat.My daughter pulled this out saying it was “for horses†(OK)?Amazingly, she combed tons of fur off without a complaint. I had to get one.Yes, it works.

I liked the idea of the combination wide- and narrow-toothed comb to replace the one I couldn't find (and subsequently discovered my son had nabbed for his own use!) and the rake brush addition was very attractive. Upon receipt, the shipping process had taken its toll and bent teeth on both the rake and comb. Packaging needs to be improved. However, I have tools - soon the teeth were all in a line and ready to be tested.There was an odd feel to the metal I could put a name to until I put it through my dog's fur the first time - these are rough surfaces and not polished; instead of gliding through fur, it feels like I'm using a de-shedder that grabs at the hairs. It does the job OK, and gets a little extra hair out during the process, but this is a lesson that you only get what you pay for. I might try using some more of my aforementioned tools to polish this pot-metal to make grooming silky smooth, but I'm prepared to accept that I may have to buy a better quality item down the road to replace these. Life lesson learned.

German Shepherds only shed once a year. It lasts 365 days. Our German Shepherd/Blue Healer mix, his under coat has an undercoat. This works wonderful. It’s reduced what I’m sweeping up. His coat is so shiny, and he’s shedding less, since we received, the rake, and comb.

We have a Great Pyrenees that requires brushing. The price was good so we gave this set a try. The handle came off of the brush after one try. Very disappointing so we sent it back for a refund.
