This is just the right tool for a mini schnauzers beard, or small areas where a big dematting tool is too big.

I have had hypoallergenic, long haired dogs for over 20 years now. We have had 3 Tibetan Terriers, a cock-a-Poo and a Havanese.I have been grooming my current Tibetan for 6 years and am going to be grooming our Havanese as well. I try to stay on top of the matting as it makes it much easier for me when I do give them haircuts. I also generally like to keep their hair longer and don’t do a super short cut when I do trim them. Thus, the right de-matting comb is crucial.I have a 9 blade comb I’ve used for years and recently decided it might be time to get a new one as it seemed like the blades were getting dull. I bought the Paw brothers 6-blade mini dematting tool last week and it has been a GAME CHANGER!! It literally goes through the mats like butter. I am in shock.My Havanese is just over a year old and is not yet used to being de-matted. I would be lucky if I could get her to tolerate it for 5 minutes. I felt like every day I’d find 5 new mats on her and that I could never get ahead of them. This new comb is so different she just lays there and lets me work on her for long stretches at a time. I barely need to apply any pressure when using the comb and it seems like it’s tugging very little at her skin, thus she can tolerate a lot more.I had resigned myself to needing to shave her belly because there were so many mats and her tummy is sensitive to the tugging. I thought I’d give this comb a try and MAGIC! Her belly is mat free in 10 minutes!! It’s truly amazing. I’m so happy… 100% recommend this comb.

I have two Cavaliers King Charles Spaniels. They have long hair that is constantly getting knotted. I brush them every day but they still get knots that I had to cut out before I bought this tool. Now I can brush out the knot without have to cut out a huge chunk of hair. It’s a really small tool so I works great for small dogs. I could see if you had big hands it might be a little hard to hold but I don’t have that issue.

It is a small but very useful tool for sensitive matted areas, like behind the ears, in the arm pits and tail. Because it is small you have lots of control on how much fur you try to de-tangle, but be patient so you don't hurt your dog by pulling too much fur at once.
