The blunt or dulled blades on this are spaced out a bit more than most of the Mars Coat King strippers, and this allows them to go through the coat a little easier and not cut the hair. Works well with our westie, minus the fact that he hits his patience limit in about a minute. I blame that on the user, not the tool.

I have a Westie girl with a beautiful thick rough coat that I do not want clippered bc it ruins the rough coat imo, and may lead to clogged hair follicles which causes skin problems for this breed. I purchased the blunt COAT KING & wrapped a wide rubberband around the teeth to lessen the chance of cutting the coat. It helps with removing the dead guard hairs…..finger stripping takes forever! I also used an emery board on the teeth before putting on the rubberband. She enjoys the feel of the Coat King bc she will lay down if I let her🙄. She likes our grooming sessions, but just tolerates combing her head…..for some dogs it’s their paws and some it’s their booties! I’ve always loved the shaggy looks of the original Westies pictured with breed developer, Col. Malcolm of Scotland. I thank my breeder for my girl’s beautiful coat and her definite Westietude!

I really like this stripping tool for use on my Belgian Laekenois as his coat does not strip out like my other Laekenois coats as it is a different texture. This tool is great in removing the undercoat and not damaging the outer coat.

I just used the Mars to strip my 7 month old Airdale. It is amazing how much loose undercoat I got out. I dont think she had ever been groomed or stripped and she was shedding really badly. Hopeing with continued use to cut down on the shedding. Really happy with this tool!

Does a great job "hand stripping" our Cairn Terrier. Good for extending the interval between groomings. The only reason for 4 stars is that I think it's pretty over priced for what it is: a small piece wood connected to a small metal rake. Maybe it's so much because it's imported? Either way, I would consider looking at cheaper options that do the same thing.

We are not educated groomers. Our Pumi got badly matted on our vacation. Removing her mats worked.Good that her professional dog groomer salvaged her coat.Happy ending!

Excellent tool for the removal of dead hair on double coated dogs. It's perfect for my norfolk terrier and is very easy to use, even if like me your grip is no longer great. Good value for money

Great comb, delivery was a mess and took a very long time. No compensation for the wait or expedited delivery once the seller knew there was an issue. Good product less than stellar seller.
