- A valve cover gasket seals the valve cover to the top portion of the engine cylinder head. The gasket prevents motor oil from leaking out as it travels around the camshafts, rockers and valves. In addition, many spark plug ports are sealed by the valve cover gasket. In the majority of modern engines, two style of gaskets are prevalent - liquid gaskets and formed rubber gaskets. The choice of gasket will depend on the material used in the construction of the valve cover, and how much pressure the seal might be under.

Usually buy OEM parts but went with the lower cost. Gaskets fit very well, no issues and no leaks after a 10 mile test drive. Will see how long it lasts but my car is a 2001 BMW 330ix with 136,000 mi and this the first time I replaced the valve cove gasket. It was definitely time!

I ordered this cheap kit and replaced it to my 2004 x3 2.5L, some weeks after this start to smell burning oil after a little drive, the reason was a leakage from front valve cover, I bought the original one at the BMW dealer 3 months ago, replaced it and works properly without leaks. Don’t waist your money and your time, other thing is the danger of ignited fire when oil drops on the hot exhaust pipe.

Just installed this valve cover gasket kit on my 05 BMW 330ci with the M54 engine and the fitment was good, no issues at all, time will tell how long it will last, will update this review after a few months

Quality was good. Installation took me a couple hours because I had to get all the old gasket bits off the valve cover, but the installation of the new gasket was quick and easy. Everything lined-up properly, and this resolved my oil-leak issue. Thanks again.
