The large top pin has a shoulder on it. The hole where it mounts needs to be stepped to fit it in. That's how body shops change these. That's how I changed them. The spring tool itself is garbage. Cheap metal not strong enough to hold up to the springs tension. It bent and warped on the first spring and didn't allow me to install them. Buy the kit without that and spare yourself the hassle. Other than that it's pretty straight forward.

Factory parts are no longer made for my 1999 Chevrolet Suburban K1500. Both front doors had sunken to the point that we could no longer open them from the inside. I ordered these, in addition to new handles and latches. The installer had such trouble getting the main pin to seat that the hinge on the door bent and had to be carefully put back into proper position. The tool that is to compress the spring was not strong enough to actually hold the spring and ended up bending the tool. At one try the spring popped and broke one of the newly installed bushings. In the end, the job was done but would not have been without the tools the installer had available to make them work. I don't know that there are any other options available however for this part for my vehicle. I hope even with the cracked bushing that these will outlast the rest of my vehicle.

Installed in my 1990 silverado. Roller pin will not fit without grinding down splines a little at a time to make it fit. Spring tool will not compress spring completely. Have to use pry bar to force spring in. Tough job but can be done.

These door hinge parts fit perfectly,Getting old out is always fun keeping door upright & lined up even was my only challenge when I finally got pins & clips with spacers all lined together 🥳 with little floor jack to lift lock side up for perfect line up, now no more slamming door shut, I am extremely happy with, I you know how to do this then this is what you need if u don't then pay lots of $$ so somebody else can

The heavey doors on these chevy trucks wear out the bushings in the hinges. These totally fix the problem. The included spring tool makes easy work of it.

The parts were good quality and a good fit. The tool was junk. Way too thin of material, it bent easily.
