Perfect fit on a 2009 Town Car. If you’re having trouble getting your door to latch do yourself a favor and pick one up. Installed over 6 months ago and still works great.

The plastic ring on my driver door striker busted off (plastic rots over time) and the door was kinda hard to close. I got tired of having to slam it and I couldn't find the ring separately so I just got a whole new striker.I have the star sockets so that's no big deal. If you don't have any, go to AutoZone, Lowe's, or wherever and get some.I was afraid the backing plate would fall down into the body once I removed the old one but it didn't. I watched a video up front to make sure. The backing plate has limited movement. I unbolted the old one. It left a faint ring showing where the old one was. I purposely didn't clean off the dirt ring.Hand tighten the new one. It went on a little too easy. I thought I was off center but I wasn't. I removed it a couple times to make perfectly sure. It's a little hard to line it up perfectly, but just tighten it somewhat and then tap it with the back of the socket wrench. It wants to go into place. Tighten it down and give it that one little extra bit of oomph. Now it's on. Just what I needed to fix my doors, now I don't have to slam them to close. But I will say I did find this exact brand cheaper else where. But they do work. When install make sure you mark where the old ones seat, so then you will have minimum adjustments if needed.

I bought a pair of these for my 1997 Explorer. Like for many of us, the striker bolt and housing were fine, but the grommets had disintegrated so I just bought the grommet kit from Dorman. They didn't work at all, too big in diameter and too loose on the bolt, they disintegrated almost immediately. So, I bought the complete unit. Hoping it might work. I don't know why but the complete units went right in, fit like a glove and work perfectly. It's a mystery to me but all's well that ends well.

These were just the thing to help with the rattling of the doors on my 89 Bronco II. I didn't have a torx bit so I used a monkey wrench and WD40 to get the old ones out. Made sure to mark the placement with sharpe first. The new ones went right in and the doors close nice and firm. This will work for front doors, not the back hatch.

These fit very tightly and seem to rust quickly . within a year or so they are rusting compared to the OEM parts

Lo instalé en una Ford Explorer Sport 2001. Encajan perfecto y la instalación es de nivel bajo. El material es de muy buena calidad y lo recibà en perfecto estado. Mi problema era que mi puerta no cerraba correctamente y habÃa que usar un poco más de fuerza para que asà lo hiciera. No me gustaba aveces azotarla. Ahora cierra correctamente y sin esfuerzo. Mi recomendación es que antes de cambiarla, con un marcador delinear el contorno completamente, servirá como guÃa. Ya que al momento de aflojar tiene "juego".
