04 TrailBlazerI bought another fan clutch (cheaper) from different Amazon seller last year. That one died within a few months... I read a lot of reviews and found that I was far from the first to get a failing clutch right out of the box from that seller.. This one is a little more expensive than the last, but seems to be working just as well as the OEM fan clutch. It's fairly easy to install if you have the right tools and know-how. If you don't know how, there are videos on YouTube showing tips and tricks to make the job easier.

Packaged well, I got exactly what I paid for! I made sure I checked everything it asked me for so I knew I got the right product. Took it out and it has been working perfectly since! I got it roughly a month ago!! Thank you! Everything seems to be working properly! You need the clutch fan tool to counter the rotation to get the old fan off. The cowl is a pain 0 yes it doesnt need to be removed and the fan blade likely needs to be detached from the clutch to get the clutch out. I think the clutch itself came out of the right hand side of the housing facing the engine bay. It might be easier if you loosen the housing bolts - that extra fraction of movement might help a little.New insert was quick and easy. about 40 minutes total time - likely faster because my son helped me (so 4 hands)

Price point was the biggest seller. The autoparts store wanted 150 more for theirs. I haven't had any problem with anything Dorman.

I have been a professional auto tech for over 20yrs and have seen Dorman quality decline each year. Yes they have some very good products but they are a very small percentage of what they sell. This particular product was a let down! It’s like driving a jet with thrusters ignited. The up side, you can return it time a time again if you of course have time…

I installed this a year ago and it’s working fine. Search YouTube for a video on a time saving trick for this installation. You’ll be glad you did. You’ll need a fan clutch tool to get it off the water pump.

After getting the $850 quote from my mechanic to fix the clutch fan, I reviewed some products and bought this part myself. It was a PAIN to get the old one out, but it works great now. Only about ten minutes for the computer to reprogram itself, and no more roaring jet engine or clicking! It's been a month and still sounds great. I have high hopes for this part, and even if it does go out in a year or two, it was only $130, vs $850 that also has the potential to go out in a year or two. Yay for a new clutch fan!

This is the 2nd Dorman fan clutch I've purchased. 1st one lasted about 1.5 years or so. To replace, do it the right way and take out the fan AND shroud. Otherwise, you'll end up damaging the radiator. You get what you pay for, this will work for a cheap fix but it stays engaged way too long when you start driving. Great for the AC but it taxes the water pump. I also suggest replacing the water pump at the same time, even if it doesn't seem to need it.
