Needed to make oil and hydraulic lines for a tractor. This did a perfect job and was easy to use. Before using do a practice flare to see how much material you will need. The final cone is stretched material so make sure you have enough or the flare will not fit properly in the joint. Likewise too much material has the same issue.

I'm building a project car and used this to flare the softer nickel/copper lines. Since I only needed to do a handful of lines, I just got this cheaper kit. Obviously the more expensive ones would be easier to use, but this one worked just fine. I wouldn't use this to try to flare any hard lines like stainless steel, but it worked just fine for my application.

tldr; Avoid this, spend some money to get a decent tool. Didn't do the job, and I will be returning it.Tubing just slid out the back of this, even after tightening the wing nuts with a long wrench. The inserts failed to flare the tubing at all and the clamp just chews up brand new brake line and makes it unusable.At first appearance it seems like it would work. The sizes are either incorrectly identified, or just poorly machined. If you took a caliper (I did) they're are consistently more than 0.03" larger than the size it should've been for the thread. That means you can't hold the tubing with the "correct" size hole. And then you notice the markings go 5/8", 3/16", 1/4", etc, but that 5/8" would have been 5/32" if they'd bothered to mark the thing right, according what it should've been if they weren't using nautical miles for tolerance.Only (minorly) redeeming thing about this was the tubing cutter.

The tool itself is OK but the case it came in was all damaged in shipping and is kind of useless.

Very handy when rebuilding a 20 year old rusty S10 ZR2 Pickup that has the common failed brake lines above the gas tank.

Complete for the project at hand. Double flare duplicates factory flare. Surprisingly well made and sturdy tool. Highly recommend.

This was supposed to include a 3/8 die. Instead is has two 7/16. The extra 7/16 doesn't even properly sit in the slot. Poor quality control. I would have given this 5 stars had it had the correct parts needed to complete the transmission lines I was working with. Everything else is sufficient. I will say that the cutting tool is a bit large though.
