Uniweld’s UDFT Deluxe Flaring Tool is specifically designed to meet R-410A flaring specifications and all 45° flares for tubing, 1/8"-3/4" O.D. Tubing. The internal break away clutch that disengages when flare is completed prevents over flaring and crushing the copper tubing. The 3/4″-12 point reversible ratchet wrench included reduces the amount of effort required to manually flare in a confined work space. The 3/8″ square drive can be used with a cordless electric drill for faster flaring. Features an eccentric off center cone that spins on an axis and rolls out a perfectly uniform 45° flare with a burnished flare surface. Mini Split A/C units are becoming increasingly popular and require flare connections on each end of the copper line set to connect the evaporator and condenser. Since R-410A is a much higher-pressure refrigerant, Mini Split manufacturers established R-410A flaring specifications that require a larger diameter, deeper flare for more surface area to seal against the male flare fitting and produce a stronger connection. Uniweld’s Deluxe Flaring Tool features a built-in tube stop height gauge that makes a perfect R-410A flare without the guess work. Specifically designed to meet R-410A flaring specifications and can also be used on all 45° flares for Soft Copper, Brass and Aluminum Tubing.

Works great for HVAC flares. Make sure to put a nut onto the tube first, oriented correctly. For best results, lubricate the rotating center bit lightly but frequently with whatever approved by your HVAC system manufacturer. You will always make a good flare with this tool. Take care of it, and store away from grime, dirt, and apprentices.

Makes perfect flares, had a repair late at night in the dark and each flare came out perfect, great as it takes out all the guesswork and is fast! The first tool arrived damaged and would bind up, replacement was good and worked property think the first one was rough handled in the warehouse.

At this point I have made 8 flares. Everyone came out perfect with no flaws. Not sure why others found this tool not up to the task. Works great for me.

There is a learning curve on using this tool. It is heavy and soyou need to learn the proper way to approach the pipe while trying to see (through a small port on the side) when the pipe contacts the depth stop and then hold everything in position while you tighten the jaws. With small diameter pipe (like 1/4”) all this manipulation can bend the pipe while you are trying to flare it.But once you get it figured out it produces beautiful flares. Add some Nylog to the eccentric head beforehand.

The main issue with this tool is : the tool doesn’t have a stopper (anything to tell you the exact point to left the pipe like the competitor do) this issue make you fail very often for someone who isnt a proEven been a pro you can find a better options like navac

DO NOT PURCHASE!!!!! This was a decent flaring tool that does actually work once you figure out the stopper. As a HVAC contractor, I was able to successfully use this tool for about 30 flares. Then it broke (in the middle of a job)... I did not use this with a drill a single time, always by the hand ratchet provided. This is NOT a heavy duty tool. If you plan on using this regularly, don't waste your money and just buy the more expensive NAVEC NEF6LM tool. It hurts to pony up the extra cash, but you wont be left stranded on the jobsite out of luck....and losing money.
