We haven't rented a place with carpet in over a decade. I spent a few weeks finding a clear plastic runner for our entry steps. I attempted uploading photos of my step by step but it didn't work so I'll do the best I can to keep this short. I didn't want carpet tape that would ruin our carpet because we're renters.Pros:- Easy to remove and it didn't rip out the filaments in our carpet.- Extremely sticky and tacky- Leaves no residue or adhesive on the carpet or plastic runner.- Was easy to remove from the carpet and plastic runnerCons: noneI fudged up during the first application because I ordered a runner that I thought was too short for the entry steps. It kept bunching up so I decided to search for carpet tape that wouldn't damage the carpet. That search lasted three weeks and found this tape that works for wood and carpet. This is one of the few brands that supports both wood and carpeting.Don't use scissors like they suggested because the tape is super sticky and when you cut the tape with scissors, it may stick to the blade and ruin the strip you just cut. I had to use scissors because the night before, I had stabbed myself with a knife cutting open another package so I used scissors. That's how I'm able to tell you to listen as they suggested and use a knife. The best way to apply the carpet tape for plastic runners on steps is to keep the tape on the roll and don't cut strips. Similar to taping up boxes, leave the tape on the roll, apply the tape where you need it, then take a knife and cut it. I wish I can post my pics so everyone can see it - y'all would be proud.Once all the strips are where you want them on the steps, start from the bottom step and start adhering the runner to the steps. I placed the carpet tape strips (2 only) of the bottom step directly under the bullnose. For the rest of the steps, I placed a strip on the left and on the right, horizontal, on top of the step, far back into the step, directly under the bullnose of the step above it.Tip for removing the backing and you're ready to stick the runner to the carpet tape. Find a corner of the strip and pinch underneath the carpet tape to peel the backing off of the carpet tape. I was struggling with the first application because I have no nails to pick and separate the backing from the carpet tape.I had to remove the top step strips because I had to adjust the amount of runner leading to foyer. I lifted it a bit to see if it were going to rip out the carpet but ot looked safe. I quickly ripped it up with NO damage to our carpet!! Then I had to remove the carpet tape from the plastic runner, NO ISSUES!This carpet tape is worth every penny!

This is the best carpet tape I’ve ever used! I have tried multiple different types mostly from hardware stores and they always loosened up after a day or two or even less if in a high traffic area. I have old, stained carpet in my home that I have to shampoo often. We can’t afford to replace it yet so we got a rug to cover a couple of the worst stains that just won’t come up. We have three kids, two large 90 pound dogs and a cat and they all play very roughly in the living room. I taped this carpet down and it hasn’t moved a single inch in a week. It’s a high traffic area and the coffee table gets moved back and forth on it as well and not a bit of it has come up. We also hosted a kids birthday party yesterday and tons of people and kids were walking and running over the rug and still it didn’t budge.I put strips of the tape in the corners and some small strips along all edges and two long strips across it and one shorter strip in the middle and it has worked great. I made sure to press it onto the rug backing firmly and we cleaned the carpet well before install. It was easy to use, very sticky and there was just enough tape for a 6x8 foot rug. I’d get two rolls if you have a larger rug.

We have had carpet tape, and then there is CARPET TAPE. This stuff sticks. In fact it sticks so well that you may have a problem with how well it sticks. For us it is perfect. We have a wooden deck that gets hot (and a very spoiled supervised cat whose feet we don't want burned!). And there is, of course, a husband who complains about almost everything. We taped some jute rugs down on the deck and they work very well reflect the heat somewhat. You can play "hopscotch" and move from one to the other without burning your feet while barefoot! What some may not like is that once adhered, it is STUCK. Doesn't matter to us since we apply another coat of paint to the deck in the spring anyway, so any that is removed with the paint is not problem. But if you have, say, a nice Italian marble floor (or something equally expensive and out of my range!) you might want to reconsider. This stuff does stick, does a good job of it, stays stuck, and is difficult to unstick!

I love this tape. This is the only tape that really stick to a carpet. I have a rug on top of my carpet. I was tripping all the time while walking on the rug. No matter how many times I straighten the rug out it continued to bunch up, which would have cause me to fall. I tried the tape the square ones you use on the side. That did not help at all, the rug did not stick to the carpet. So I order this tape. I put several long pieces on the rug all over then I placed the rug onto the carpet. YES,YES ,YES, it works, no lumps, no tripping, rug is in place it has not moved at all. This is the best tape to use if you have a rug you want to tape to carpet. I do not know how it is to remove, that' why I did to rate this.

It does a great job at what its supposed to do. But, the process of using the stuff is trash. From the start. The outer protective plastic wrap took 10 minutes to get off and flaked off in pieces. Then the label took hulk strength to get off. Then it took an act of congress to get the backer tape off for the topside adhesive. Once its down it does amazing job, but its a huge pain to put down.

Tried and true! We used this tape to affix stair treads. The first tread I put down incorrectly and the tape peeled the paint right off - exactly what you want if you’re looking for a good carpet tape! The tape is very easy to cut and affix onto your surface, the backing easily peels off. The tape is extremely sticky and you do have to use force to remove it if you make a mistake. An extremely functionable product!

I purchased the Eterart Double Sided Carpet Tape for use in my classroom, and I couldn't be more impressed. As a teacher, ensuring the safety of my students is paramount, and this tape has exceeded my expectations. It adheres firmly to both the carpet and the floor, effectively preventing any slips or trips, even in high-traffic areas. What sets this tape apart is its versatility and durability. Not only does it work seamlessly on carpets, but it also adheres well to hardwood floors and tiles, making it suitable for various indoor surfaces. Despite its strong adhesive properties, it's surprisingly easy to remove and leaves no residue behind, preserving the integrity of your floors. If you're looking for a reliable solution to keep your rugs in place, look no further than Eterart Double Sided Carpet Tape. Highly recommended for both home and professional use!

Used it to place the Do Not Enter sign on my sons door.. it is firmly attached!. I bought a mat for him to use while playing VR. He's on it daily and it hasn't moved an inch. 100% worth buying..
