I KNOW I had a 23/32†bit but there was a hole in my storage rack for big bits. This bit is very nice, appears to have a surface coating that might be TiC or TiN. Either way, nice and sharp-but, for larger sizes, I ALWAYS drill a pilot hole. If you want the hole where you center-punched it, starting with a center drill and stepping up to finish size is the only way to do it!

I used this 37/64†bit in plastic, so it wasn’t much of a test. I incrementally drilled a hole starting with a small bit and sized up via 3 bits for drilling my desired 37/64th†finished hole for the 3/8â€NPTtaper tap on the bottom of a 10†filter sump. I now have a drain so I can then change pre-filters on my water softener system without a mess.

I needed a ID of 30mm to make a pivot pin for a excavator thumb. The only Tube I could source was 1†ID. I used the 1.125†drill bit to rough bore 3.5†of DOM tubing, then a boring bar to finish to 1.190â€. I was surprised the cheap amazon 1.125†bit drilled the 3.5†and seemed good as new. This was in a lathe with coolant mind you but it was worth the purchase
