The instructions are poorly made with a handful of pictures which do not adequately explain putting it together. The provided clamp plate has no way to attach to the base. Please notice in advertising images it is always sitting to the side or some how magically on top of the drill but no information showing how it attaches. That is because it doesn't. There is an internal spring which provides tension for the drill mechanism -- it comes loose easily, is difficult to reattach and immediately comes loose again, reducing the effectiveness of the press. It must be clamped or attached to a workbench or it is not useful, the base is too light to keep it upright and level during operation.

I bought this for a single project, and may use it for others.For that reason, it's five stars. I really don't need a hundred-dollar-plus drill press for four holes. I would not use this for more than casual use.Watch the assembly videos and bring some time and patience to the assembly process. This is not a 'throw it together in five minutes and start drilling' project.Also, you may want longer bolts to attach the clamp to the base. I had some handy, and they worked much better.Also-also, bolt this to a board slightly larger than it, and C-clamp that to the table or workbench, and it's much more portable.

Product arrived fairly well packaged. Instructions were limited to pictures, not very good, only. No written instructions. Tube connecting to the base is extremely flimsy so extreme caution must be observed when assembling. There is a screw/nut on side of unit which couldn’t figure out purpose as instructions does not comment on. Haven’t use unit yet so don’t know if important or critical. Unit also came with a clamp which, again, no instruction on purpose or use though can only assume. Hardware provided to secure unit, assumption, onto a base of some sort appears to be too short. Lack for printed instructions/guidelines leaves a lot to interpretation, which can be a safety issue.

Came in a box with no paperwork or instructions. No way I can put it together without instructions for putting all the pieces together or at least a user manual. UPDATE seller provided instructions finally. Apparently issues with videos but able to finally access info. They were very responsive to problems and finally got instuctions for assembly. Will update after put together and used later

Once I found a drill to fit it, I found that no matter how tight you install the drill, it shifts when drilling, making the drill crooked. It's good for light drilling, but if you use any pressure at all , the drill shifts.

CLAMP WAS UNABLE TO GRIP A STANDARD SIZE DRILL TIGHTLY. CLAMP ASSEMBLY WOBBLES WHEN LOWERIING THE BIT TO THE WORK PIECE. IF DRILL IS RAISED, IT WILL DRILL HOLE IN A DIFFERENT SPOT ON THE WORKPIECE ONCE LOWERED. HIGHLY INACCURATE! USELESS ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS!
