About this item

  • ENSURE SAFE DRINKING WATER - Our portable water purification tablet essentials kit provides everything you need to monitor and maintain your marine vessel or recreational vehicle freshwater system: 2 bottles of 100 Aquatabs and 1 bottle of 50 test strips.
  • ELIMINATE HARMFUL MICROORGANISMS - Aquatabs are effective against bacteria, viruses, and giardia cysts, reliably preventing related water borne diseases. They can continue releasing safe, measured doses of purifying free chlorine weeks after treatment for ongoing purification.
  • CHECK YOUR WATER SAFETY- The included EPA-approved test strips and color chart quickly and accurately indicate whether you have sufficient free chlorine in your steel, aluminum, or plastic tank from your last Aquatabs treatment, or if you need to add purification tablets in order to keep your water safe to drink.
  • PURIFY YOUR WATER IN 30 MINUTES - If your free chlorine levels are low, simply drop one Aquatabs water purification tablet in your boat or RV water tank for every 4 gallons of water. It’s as easy as that! Your water will be clean and safe to drink in just 30 minutes.
  • GREAT TASTING WATER ONBOARD - Aquatabs contain the active ingredient sodium dichloroisocyanurate, which leaves your water safe, clear and free of any unpleasant taste, color, or “rotten egg” odor after treatment. These water purifier tablets are EPA registered and NSF certified.

Portable and great for emergency situations. They work quickly and convenient to store. They seem to work so far and haven't had any issues so far.

Water purification tablets we use on our boat. Water testing indicates they do exactly as they are supposed to.

I've got some water stored in 50gl barrels, and after sitting for a year I wasn't sure if it would still be good or not. When I opened the barrel there was a bit of an odd smell. I tested the water with a strip and it didn't seem to be too bad, the test strip said it was around 0.1ppm. I added a few tablets and waited a couple hours and then tested again and it showed it was around 1.2ppm. I'm not really familiar with chlorine and how much ppm it should be, but if the guide is to be believed, it seems to be good. So, seems like they work well! I don't have any other strips or test it against, so hopefully it's an accurate reading.

This is such an easy to use kit. The directions were clear and we tried it out immediately. It worked so well. The water was so clear and the odor was eliminated immediately. I really cannot put enough emphasis on how easy this is to use! Perfect for boating, camping, hiking etc.

I got this to use along with my 37gal emergency water bladder for long term storage. It's a great all in one kit. It gives me plenty enough tabs for multiple applications and the ability to quickly and easily test my water so I know when to add more tablets. I also have a more in depth test kit from Aquamarine to use along with this one. It only takes 9 - 9.5 tablets for my whole water bladder. I also team this kit up with an inline filter when filling and of course on the out flow of the bladder. Plus the water flow meter is very helpful at keeping up with how much water I've used so I can ration if needed. Also when filling so I know exactly how much I've put in so I can use the tablets properly. I can also use the kit if needed with my 2.5 and 5 gal water cans by cutting the tablets. It's really a useful purification kit and a great comfort to have. It's something that everyone should consider having on hand for emergencies and I would highly recommend it.

I plan to use these Aquatabs for emergency water purification. Each 397mg tablet will treat four gallons (18 liters) in 30 minutes. We have a number of blue 7-gallon Aqua-Tainers, used for camping, so two tablets per container should do the trick. This Aquatabs refill kit includes a bottle of 50 SenSafe free-chlorine-sensing strips. This is a nice feature as the strips can be used to verify the safety of stored water. My strips have an expiry date of 06/20/2025, or 15.5 months from date of delivery.Their website says that Aquatabs in tubs, like these in the Marine refill kit, won’t expire for three years. However, my bottles’ expiration dates were 12/2025, or 21.5 months from date of delivery. The website says that Individually foil-wrapped strips of Aquatabs are also available, and they don’t expire for five years. For emergencies, it’s good to have a supply of large water containers on hand. I plan to keep a few filled bottles ready, then use Aquatabs to purify extra water as needed. FEMA recommends 1 gallon of water per person per day, so for each week we’ll need at least one 7-gallon Aqua-Tainer of water and two Aquatabs for each family member. Plus extra water for pets and cleaning.Five-gallon buckets might work in a pinch; just fill each bucket ⅘ of the way up, and use one tablet.Aquatabs are effective at neutralizing viruses, bacteria, and Giardia, but they are not effective against Cryptosporidium. If Crypto is a concern (i.e. if water is from lakes, rivers, streams, or rain gutters where fecal contamination is possible), then an additional step to filter the water and remove Crypto cysts will be needed. To prepare drinking water, try a three-stage process: 1) let water stand overnight, or use alum for speedier results, so sediment falls to bottom; 2) take the cleared water and treat it with Aquatabs to kill most pathogens, then let water settle again; 3) take the cleared and cleaned water and filter it with a filter labeled “NSF 53” or “NSF 58” (plus the words “cyst reduction” or “cyst removal”) to remove the remaining Cryptosporidium spores.

Meant for RVs but this is also great to have in your emergency kit in case you have to make water safe to drink. Goes right next to my emergency water and food as well as in the RV

I like this simple and easy to use water purification system that's designed to keep stored water from becoming contaminated. This is great for boating, RV's, camping or anywhere else where I store water for short or long periods of time.To use, simply drop one tablet in for every four gallons of stored water. The tablet releases chlorine which will kill any bacteria, viruses or giardia cysts in the water and the majority of chlorine will dissipate into the air in about 30 minutes. There are 100 tablets included in the bottle and also included in the kit are chlorine test strips. The strips will show the ppm level of "free" chlorine left the water prior to drinking it. (4 parts per million (ppm) or less are considered safe in drinking water.) A colored chart in the kit is the guide for determining the level of chlorine left in the water.Bottom Line: This is a compact kit I can easily pack with me when traveling and provides safety and peace of mind regarding the stored water I'm using. The kit includes a test cup, chlorine treatment tablets and a bottle with test strips. The chlorine bottle is child-proof safety sealed and both bottles must be kept closed to prevent premature degradation of the supplies. There is an expiration date on the kit which is two years after manufacture. Good value!
