This slide was better then I expected. I’ve had the blues bottle by Dunlop and liked it but felt it was a little light and maybe to big for my size 10.5 ring finger. I took pics of both so guitarists could compare the differences. You can see the DT01 is thicker and my finger fits better. The engraving is on the inside and the whole bottle is smooth with zero edges. Playing today on my Martin D28 sounded great. I normally use metal on an acoustic because the blues bottle is to light. Not with the DT01. It’s not as heavy as a chrome slide but its perfect for me. Much warmer then chrome and louder then the blues bottle. This will be the slide I will now use.

I love that this is Derek Trucks' signature slide - the best slide player going and my favorite current artist. There are many types of slides out there, but if this is the right slide for DT, then it must be the right slide. Not too light, certainly not tiny if that is what you are after - this slide is for the ring finger - it is durable and it works well for me, and I am a beginner on slide.

I am tempted to deduct a star because this does not make me play like Derek Trucks. I've been playing guitar for 25 years at this point. I've had my share of gear and guitars. This is a great glass slide, much nicer that the old steel slide that I originally played with. It gives you a nice, smooth tone. If you're new to slide playing, it does take some practice to coordinate the pressure of your hand on the string behind the slide - which serves to mute the strings you aren't playing - and the pressure of the slide on the string(s) you want to play ... but, it's worth the effort when you get it down. It opens up a whole new frontier of tone and playing options.

I've never used a bottle slide until this one. I wasn't sure if I'd like it better than my glass tube slide, but I do. I didn't think I would have as much control with my finger moving around more inside the bottle slide, but I do. It has a nice tone and I'm able to control it just as well. Fits well on my ring finger size 9 - 9.5.

Works well but it's enclosed so prepare for really sweaty fingers. I have big fingers and fit in it fine. Steel use my steel slide a little more because it breathes better

On my resonator I use 80 20 bronze strings and use a brass slide.On electric guitar this slide sings and helps me sound like I can play this style, opening creativity.big difference from metal or ceramic. Perfect fit for my fingers.

Dunlop makes great products. This fits my ring or pinkie, really well. Really the perfect slide. Mine came with a defect. I don't know if it was mishandled, a QC issue, or the seller is a liquidator of the lesser examples. It's still useable and more trouble than it's worth to me to return it.

A very good, usable, classic glass slide! Stable and comfortable. I bought BOTH the Dunlop DT01 Derek Trucks slide and the Dunlop 276 slide. They are, virtually, identical, with the Dunlop 276's base being a tiny bit thicker. The Trucks weighed 43 grams, the 276 weighed 44 grams! They fit exactly the same on the finger. The Trucks slide has his signature on the slide. One gram of difference between the two and a signature on one.

It is a really good slide but is very clean and precise sounding and a little too light for me this shows how good Derek really isIf you are a bit sloppy like me it’ll make you sound horribleI think the other trick Derek has is the amount of volume he uses playing live this probably helps plus he’s a genius really is and his buddy warren haynes is greatI play live but not a lot of volume using a 20watt amp were he’d be using 100 watt plus which would help make it singSo I think I’ll stick to my ole faithful brass slide has a little more weight and lets or at least I think get away with being a mediocre slide playerIt’s the hardest thing to learn and do well but I’ll keep at it
