I picked up this hand tool to shape some soft 3/8" copper tubing I needed to install as HVAC condensate line. It cradled the line in the shaped portion as the 2nd portion pressed the tubing into the bends I required. The tool's construction is sturdy, the metal used is solid, and it allowed me to create some fairly tight bends without any unwanted crimps or kinks in my copper tubing. It was money well spent.

I bought this to custom bend some 5/16" copper tubing that split in my 22 year old stand up air compressor that the tubing has since been discontinued. Using this bender I was able to almost exactly duplicate the old tubing bends and saved me the cost of a new compressor. I'm sure I'll be using this in the future for brake lines. Git you one.

The title states 3/8" tubing, but the description also states 10mm. It does 3/8 just fine, but will NOT do 10mm which is what I bought it for. The channel is about 9.4mm which flattens the sides of the tubing. Since finding an affordable bender for 10mm tubing in the US is difficult, I decided to modify it. You could file it out with a rat tail flle, but I chose to use a 25/64" drill bit which is very close. I used the side of the drill bit in a cordless drill, working slowly and carefully, using a small piece of 10mm tubing as a gauge. Works perfectly. Makes smooth bends with no distortion of the tubing. In all other respects, the tubing bender is accurate, strong and easy to use. It's perfectly suited to occasional use. If I was a professional, I'd buy a better one, but that goes for almost any tool.

good on copper and aluminum, not so good on steel

Had to bend an aluminum line to replace a steel line in my custom automotive cooling system. The old steel line was bent with a different tool and kinked. The new one I did with this tool came out perfect. Have used it for several other lines now too with awesome results.

Impossible to use in small spaces and requires two hands to operate. However, it does work well for what it is designed if used in an open area.

What I really like most is that it is for multiple sizes of piping

Used this to bend 3/8" aluminum tube for an air compressor aftercooler. Did exactly what I needed it to do. Very satisfied for the price.

I used this to make some 3/8†fuel line. The line was aluminum so was very easy to bend. It does take a little patience to get the feel of how it works. Feels sturdy and would last for years I’m sure on light duty stuff.
