I am a locksmith, so my installation experience may be somewhat biased. This pocket door lock was pretty easy for me to install. It utilizes a 2 1/8" door prep. (Standard for most knobs and deadbolts)-so that's a bonus. The finish was consistent throughout the surface of the product, construction was appropriate for the price point. The escutcheon plate on either side of the lock projects about 3/32, so make sure you have clearance between the door and the door pocket.Instructions were clear but basic, and there's a decent amount of drilling and chiseling to be done, so if you don't have many tools, or aren't comfortable with wood working, I suggest professional installation.

Summary:Basically this is a solid, good looking and functional product. It's look is quite good and fits nicely with other oil rubbed bronze items in our house. There is one downside in that it was quite stiff or "catchy" when trying to open the lock. The functionality score I give below is due to this catchiness since it is hard to turn the knob. Quite hard. As a result I removed it and lubed it with a quality silicone lube and that helped it considerably. I still think there is more to it and that the lube is just a bandaid on the issue but it made it usable. I think the factory needs to spend a little time polishing off rough edges before assembling. If they solve that this would be an easy 5 out of 5 product. One other note is that it is very sturdy. In fact its the third lock I've put in this door and it is by far the sturdiest I've found. An interesting note is that it is just a touch lower than my previous lock so I had to shift the catch hole down 1/8".Pros (1 to 5 stars):Looks 5Sturdiness 5Ease of Installation 5Cons:Functionality 2

The pull tab to open took me a few times to figure out. Simply swipe up and it pops out

I've installed many locks but never one for a pocket door (I've just installed pulls). The description does not indicate (unless I missed it) that the latch is also a pull. It can be pushed into the mechanism and released by pushing it again. It is rather small and might be insufficient for a heavy door (my door was a 24" solid). The locking mechanism is rather cleaver-the latch, once in the strikeplate, extends a pull (for lack of a better word) into the strikeplate which secures it. Trying to lock the door when it is already closed is difficult-the solution, I found is to extend the locking mechanism prior the closing the door and then push it into the strikeplate-works every time. The knob used for locking and unlocking the door is rather small for my big fingers but I can lock and unlock it.It's a relatively inexpensive device; but it does work.

The design of my house has several pocket doors. I hate traditional pock door hardware which is small and not secure. These Dynasty Hardware for pocket doors utilize a traditional hole cut for a standard door knob and the latch and mechanisms are larger making it easier on the hands. The locking mechanism is much more sturdy and I prefer to use solid wood doors for my pocket door installation. These Dynasty Door mechanisms make the door much more secure and private.

This worked perfectly, and came with everything I needed to replace a broken pocket door latch. It actually works better then the old one - smoother, easier to lock and I'm very happy with this. Installed like a charm.

Very nice picture not so easy to put ineed to put in if you are not used to doing it I would recommend buying a door that is already made for a door lock Very pretty once it got installed though

So hard to find a pocket door handle this colour. We redid all our door hardware from silver to black and this was the final piece to the puzzle. Looks amazing, easy install. A little over priced but happy with purchase and would highly recommend.

Purchased this on a limb because I couldn't get the Weiser pocket door lock in rubbed bronze anymore, which we have on another door in the house. The Dynasty works in the same fashion as the Weiser with the hidden handle and locks securely. Seems well built and the colour matches the existing Weiser we have.
