This is direct replacement for a Pondmaster Model 18B magnetic pump and it works great. Replacement is easy. Just remove 6 screws on the cover, remove the cover, remove the old impeller, insert the new impeller and replace the cover. Saved an expensive pump for a reasonable price. When testing, I just plugged it in but the impeller didn't rotate and I thought the pump was shot. But when I put it under water, it worked like a champ. Only problem is my wife couldn't wait and went out and bought a new pump for over 200 bucks. At least now I have a working spare. By the way, the manufacturer recommends cleaning it every six months. We live in PA and rather than leave it in the pond during the winter when it is not working, I plan to take it out of the pond for the winter. I think leaving it in is what caused the problem because it was working fine in the fall.

I've had to replace the impeller every 12 to 18 months because the company that put in the pond tilted the patio to have all the water go into the pond with all kinds of debris. Impeller works fine but doesn't like sand and fine particles that scratch up the impeller. Of course the pond company said it wasn't their problem. I spoke with a local company that sells the pump and they told me what the problem was.

The impeller works fine but just don't order it from Ozbo, otherwise you may never get the model you ordered. I found that out the hard way after they sent me the wrong model and size for a different pump. When I made them aware of their mistake after I got it, they "corrected" their mistake even further by sending the correct one to a wrong address on the other side of the country. Needless to say I never got the one I ordered and ended up having the scavenge parts from the wrong new one to rebuild my old one so it fit my old pump. Certainly not the ideal way of doing it, but their bad service left me no other choice.

My first Danner 1800 ran nonstop for over 20 years and died a year ago. Was a fantastic pond pump. Replaced it with an exact same model that lasted 2 weeks. The replacement Danner sent lasted less than a week. The replacement impeller they sent to me lasted 6 weeks. The next impeller I bought lasted 2 months. They must have been bought by el-cheapo company because the impellers are kept turning On the shaft by only two tiny tooth pick size pieces of plastic that quickly wear down causing impeller to stop turning on the spinning shaft. This could be fixed in production for about a half a cent worth of material. It’s a shame to see such a great product ruined by an apparent and slight change in it’s manufacturing process. I’ve owned my last Danner pump.

4 months old and already worn out, used to last 2 or more years minimum. Plastic seems softer or not as strong as in the past. This is sad because these were my favorite pumps in the past. I will start looking into a different company for my pond pumps. You used to at least get quality for the high prices. I used to haul plastics to companies in the past and learnd alot about the shear strength of different plastics. There is no excuse for this, other than selling a product made to fail prematurely for profits. This business approach will certainly backfire. Even at half the price, it's no longer worth it.

what i dislike about the impeller is that it is usually wear and tear of the impeller and not the magnet .in an emergency i used a plastic repair kit so the impeller would bite in and turn , cost me $7(with UV).I have a back up new impeller just in case .they should just sell the plastic piece for a couple of dollars instead of the whole magnet unit .
