I ordered this pan for a different purpose than it was intended. I ordered it to use to soak and wash the round grills from my smoker. They fit well and it's perfect for what I wanted it for. Very durable, and very handy!

I used this under my bird feeder to catch the waste. Worked perfectly. Water drains away via fitting hole, easy to clean. Great price.

I've bought water heater pans before, and this is by far the thinnest-walled, flimsiest one I've seen. You could easily crumple it up in your hands, but it's not so flimsy it won't probably survive shipping. If you mean to put it on a strong flat surface and put a water heater in it, as the manufacturer intends, it should do the job -- if you're reasonably careful with it and never, say, step on the edge.If you're a pro and go through a lot of water heater pans, it probably makes sense to use something this lightweight, and, hopefully, cheap. Honestly, the last prior one I bought was probably three times as sturdy and cost about the same, but maybe prices have gone up. If you're doing a DIY job and will only (hopefully) buy one water heater pan this decade, you might spend a little more and get something sturdier.

Received this item and unfortunately it was too large to fit under my water heater. I wanted to return and reorder a smaller size, however, you will not get your FULL refund as they deduct a restocking fee from your refund to return a PIECE OF PLASTIC.
