It didn't sound like a beach at all. It didn't sound like anything. I don't think there were enough stones inside to get a good sound.

My kids really like it the quality is very good but the small size is smaller than expected.The sound quality is very good, but IF the instrument a little bigger, then high-quality sounds would be produced!

The size does match up to the size proclaimed. But it just seemed to look smaller in person. It was exactly as described in the photo and cute but for me the sound just doesn't last as long when I'm trying to have a meditation session. So it turned out to not be really what I needed specifically. Good sound but not really like the ocean sound I needed. Fast shipping and nice as a product though.

My first experience with an ocean drum was at a sound bath. I wasn't expecting too much from a 6-inch drum but was very pleasantly surprised. The sound was much louder than I expected. I had heard a much larger drum before and wasn't expecting a 6-inch drum to produce this volume of sound. I found that holding it with the image side up like in the photo and very slowly rotating your hands produced the best sound. It takes a bit of experimentation to find the best sounds, but once you get it, it really sounds like waves. The trick is not to move too quickly. You want the beads to move slowly over the drum membrane. It produces a sound that sounds like waves in the ocean. It's really relaxing and meditative. I'm very impressed by the quality of the drum and the sound it produces. The image also makes it a nice decorative piece when not in use.

We ordered it and then we re-ordered it both times we got broken ones. I was very disappointed! Other than that it looked like it would be lovely, but it got broken in the shipping. I guess I sent both of them back.
