I saw this at my neice’s music class. She was so excited to use it that I got it for her and her sister to have at home. It’s great quality. The sound quality and calming effect is amazing. Definitely worth it.

I'm a board certified music therapist working in a variety of settings and this ocean drum is a favorite everywhere I go, from 3 year olds to 103 year olds. Folks recovering from trauma and substance use often report feeling soothed and regulated with both hearing or playing this drum. It's non threatening because it doesn't require the player to adhere to a structured rhythm and the weight and texture provide sensory stimulation. I also like that it's not too loud. I've used the bigger ones and have had clients report increased anxiety and when kids struggling with limited impulse control shake the big ones full force, it can be really overwhelming for clients with limited frustration tolerance (as well as for me). Something about the material the fish graphic is on, tempers the tone, making it warmer and much more soothing. The graphic also can inspire imaginative play for children. I've paired it with "Let's go fishing" by Laurie Berkner as well as with improvised story songs. I had one I used for years with adults in inpatient psych and never noticed any wear other than the color fading. I've had a few little kids stand on this drum (oops) and it was fine. I'm so glad to have one again!

Product arrived well-packaged in its own box within the Amazon box.It has a beautiful casing that feels solid and the sound is amazing. It is an ocean drum so yes, it is definitely louder than your other hand-held percussions. You can play drums on this too by the way and it has a nice feel and gives a good light-bodied sound... like a snare but lighter. Love this drum!

Just received my 16" Remo Ocean Drum. Love the sound this gives off. Very relaxing to work with to get a slow wave or crashing waves. Cant wait to work it for meditation. Trying to upload a video so you can hear it too! My next purchase will be the night waves.

Nice aquarium graphics but the sound is so-so. Especially compared to the 22" version. If you've got your heart set on a ocean drum, get the 22" version.

Love this drum! Sounds just like waves rolling or crashing on the beach, depending on how fast the drum is tilted. Slow tilts create soft, calming wave sounds, fast tilts create loud crashing wave sounds. This drum can get very loud. Love the clear top and the fish theme. Very happy with this purchase, since I miss the beach and wave sounds, and highly recommend.

I opted to spend a little extra money and buy the Brand name of this because I saw it first hand in my son’s music therapy class. He loved it so much and this would hold an adults attention as well if you need some calming strategies. Sturdy product and when you’re dealing with tiny little beads that may escape, I’d go for spending a few extra dollars rather than risk a poorly made product and risk accidental ingestion.

Cet instrument permet de recréer la mer. Et voilà que le silence se remplit. C'est une plage qui s'ouvre, et la rencontre devient possible dans un nouveau contexte; la rencontre avec soi-même ou avec d'autres qui sont libérés par le contexte ainsi créé. Cela nous rappelle le bruit du placenta qui remplissait nos oreilles quand nous flottions dans le liquide amniotique.... Souvenirs de bonheur incomparable enfoui dans la mémoire ancienne!

Attention à ce que les billes ne se coincent pas entre la membrane et son support.Sur mon exemplaire il y en avait une dizaine dans cette situation, que je réussis à décoincer peu à peu.
