You shouldn't really leak check at the filler neck as a first test, because the leak may have been the cap you just removed to install the tool. But there are times when check valves in the tank prevent filler neck leaks from showing up any other way, and for that purpose this tool is the best. The flap-opener for capless systems is a great feature as well.

This kit requires the use of the included adhesive disks. Mine came with only two disks even though the picture clearly shows a dozen disks. Redline's website also list 12 disks in the kit. I paid $120 for a kit that I can only use twice before having to spend another $30 to continue using the kit.
