We couldn't be happier with our Eco Breeze purchase. Now that the Arizona summer is fading, we use our Eco Breeze daily. We spend the majority of our time in our family room. Instead of running the A/C which is trying to cool the entire house, we run the Eco Breeze and only expend energy in the room we spend our time. We've seen a huge reduction in our electric bills. We don't cringe anymore when we open our bill! Being able to control the temperature is great - we don't wake up to a cold room like we would if the windows were open all night. Instead, the room temperature is just right. This was a great purchase and we plan on buying a couple more for the rest of the house. Well worth every penny!!

I have been using the Eco Breeze in my bedroom since June 25th, when it was delivered. The controls function as the manual describe them. The mechanical operation of the louvers and fans also work. So what I am about to describe below is not due to a defect, IMHO, in the Eco Breeze I received.I have not experienced that it can cool my room when the outside temperature and humidity should be able to bring cool air into my bedroom. Now here is the 'experiment' I conducted. I have four double hung windows in my bedroom. One of the windows is where I have positioned the Eco Breeze. With all of the other windows closed and the door leading out of the bedroom closed, I turned the Eco Breeze on in automatic mode. I also have a wireless thermometer in the bedroom that I can monitor from my living room. I watched the temperature in the bedroom increase as the Eco Breeze was running. Also I wasn't in the bedroom at the time, not were any heat generating appliances turned on, other than the Eco Breeze. At first I thought the temperature was just going through normal fluctuations. I gave it an hour and watched the room get 2-3 degrees warmer. So I then went in and turned off the Eco Breeze and opened the bottom sash of two of the windows. So at this point it was only the outside air that could change the temperature in the room. I waited for another hour and watched the room get 5 degrees cooler. So here is my thinking. The actual running of the Eco Breeze is generating heat which is increasing the temperature in the room. (BTW the thermometer is positioned right under the Eco Breeze so than I should be picking up the optimum cooling of the room.) Yet when the Eco Breeze is running and I put my hand to feel the air being blown into the room, it feels cool. I can't really tell how much hot air is being sucked out of the top louvers but when I put my hand on the side of the Eco Breeze which faces outside of the window, there is quite a strong flow of air being pulled out of the room and blown out of the top portion of the grills on the back.I did contact customer service in order to get additional extenders so that I could try this in a window in my 2nd home. I haven't had an opportunity yet to try it there, but I will do a similar test. Since I didn't request the extenders when I placed my order, I was asked to pay a very modest shipping charge to have them sent to me. Customer service was very prompt and polite. So why do I give this 3 stars. I just love the concept of the Eco Breeze. It should work as its advertised to do. Why then in my experience does it heat my room, rather than using the cool night air to lower the temperature? The home I am currently testing it in is in the country. So even when during the day the outside temperature has gotten above 95 degrees, at night the temperature typically drops to the low 70's, and sometimes to the mid 60's.Now on the low fan setting, it is a louder than just white noise for my ears. For others it may not be an issue. Putting the fan to medium and high positions is really loud, which I think anyone would say the same. The fan fits in my window very easily. I also think it is light enough for any one person to pick up to place in the window. I used the foam padding that can with it in the packing box, to further seal the Eco Breeze on the bottom and also on the top. I am happy with how that has worked. I have used it through some very heavy rains. No water came in through the louvers because they close promptly and securely when the rain starts. I am able to keep my screen in the window even with the Eco Breeze positioned in the window.

We think this is the best invention EVER. Our house is over 6000 squ. ft and costs a fortune to cool. We love leaving windows open on cool nights, but then it is sometimes not cool by the time we go to bed, or it is raining, so the windows can't be opened. This fan with a thermostat is the best because it opens and brings in the cool air from outside only when it is cooler outside than inside air. It doesn't let rain in, so can be on even on rainy days. If it gets hot and humid, the fan shuts off and the vents close, allowing our house air conditioner to kick in and make us comfortable. We have it in two bedrooms upstairs and I'm anxious to see how much money it saves us at the end of the summer. It definitely keeps us more comfortable. LOVE these fans!

Horrible fan. It's a good idea and has nice features but it doesn't work. The fans aren't powerful, they don't help cool, and the exhale fan barley does anything. Today it was 60 outside and inside the room I was running the fan was 77. The home ac unit was turned off to try the fan, but the fan didn't help take the temperature down, it just kept rising. Do not recommend.

1) Basic functionality works as advertised! It's great to get this kind of natural ventilation without having to constantly check the outside temperature, opening and closing windows and turning fans on and off.2) If there is direct sunlight shining on the window in question, the external temperature sensor gets a dramatically incorrect reading. I placed mine in an East-facing window, and this makes it shut off too soon in the mornings. I think I'll have to find some way to keep the sensor in shade...3) The fans put out plenty of air at any speed, and they aren't overly loud if you're used to box fans and the like. At the same time, however, the *quality* of sound is not particularly pleasant; the air flow is quite turbulent, so it sounds more like the buffeting of a box fan than the whoosh of a ceiling fan. I moved it from the bedroom into the next room over, and now I'm okay sleeping while it runs.4) Speaking of sound, you will definitely hear everything happening on the other side of the window-- even when the louvers are closed. They seal well enough to minimize air flow, but they are just made of hard plastic, so it's not like they have gaskets for a true sound-proof seal.5) Comes with a bunch of long, narrow hard-plastic gap-filler panels that slot together until you reach the desired width. These are manufactured with pretty loose tolerances, so some of them are very difficult to slot together, while others are a bit too loose for my liking. I'll give extra points for a "nifty" solution (the panels are even hollow for insulation), but two of the 20-ish panels arrived broken, so maybe a different plastic (or better packaging) is warranted.
