I love my litter genie but hated the plastic waste- EcoLeo to the rescue! These bags are strong and fit perfectly with my litter genie, I have never had an issue with ripping and they hold a LOT. Sure it’s a little more annoying to have to lift the lid to install the bag each time but everything about litter boxes is annoying so no real added issue, and a huge plus to have compostable bags given you are putting compostable items into it. Bags are nice and long so can easily tie after they are filled. Thank you EcoLeo for making a sustainable product to use with an already bought litter genie!!

These are great alternatives to plastic bags, we used them in our litter genie for a while. However, they don’t have very good smell prevention like the classic bags and you have to replace them much more frequently. Additionally, these rip pretty easily so you have to be careful to not overfill and remove gently.

The bags seem to be thick and sturdy. I only have one cat at the moment, and she has very regular litter box habits, so the bags seem to work just as well as the bags that came with the Litter Genie. I saved the cartridge and wrap the top of the bag around it. I find it’s actually easier this way than using the original system that came with the Litter Genie.

I really, really wanted to like these bags. Unfortunately, they are failures.1. They do not contain the smell. I couldn't figure out why my room kept smelling like cat waste, even with fresh litter in the box. Then, I read the box and it says, and I am quoting, "Minimize odors by double bagging and adding a couple tablespoons of baking soda between bags." Uh, the bags should contain the odor without baking soda OR using two bags. But, I tried it anyway and it does improve, but does not eliminate, the odor.2. The bags are thick and don't fit the litter genie well. The old refill container pops out of its holder and you have to re-fit the bags mid-scoop. This is especially bad when you are double bagging.3. The box states do not overfill. Well, if you overfill, the bag will literally explode when you lift it out and spill pee clumps all over your floor!!!4. I put all of my learning curve together from the first few bags. Now, I double bag and add baking soda to all the bags. I did not overfill the bag (which means I pulled it out about half-full - what a waste of several feet of product). I am feeling confident that I have this thing mastered. Then, pee clumps all over the floor again!!!! I would have taken a picture but who wants to see that. Out of the six or seven bags I used, two failed. When double bagging, and the bag splits, you lose TWO bags instead of one. Nope, no more, Never again. And yes, I also followed the other instructions on the box and the bags are less than nine months old, and stored in a cool, dry place.Save your money and try something else. Unless you like used cat litter between your toes and all over your floor.

These are much easier to use and they perform well. Thick, high quality bags. Space saving. No smell. Eco-friendly. Affordable.

I've used the entire box of these EcoLeos, so I think I can give them a fair review. I only had one bag develop a hole, so I wouldn't put that as a con. They seem strong enough. For the purposes of this review, I'll compare these green EcoLeo bags to the continuous roll ones (the blue, Litter Genie style bags). I'll call those the "blue" bags.EcoLeo Pros:1. They're environmentally friendly. I applaud the effort.2. You get a lot of bags.EcoLeo Cons:1. The biggest con is that they bring your hands too close to the "action." I had to use rubber gloves every time I changed the bag. It's nice to use gloves with the blue ones as well, but not absolutely necessary. The blue ones are a continuous roll, so you just pull the bag down. You don't need to lift the lid. (That's only necessary when you replace the entire roll.) With these, you have to lift the lid each time you empty/reload the bag. Plus, I've found you have to empty/reload the bag a bit more often than the blue ones. I prefer the blue. Much easier to use.2. The bag (when outside of the litter pail) is stinky. It doesn't contain the smell well.3. The instructions were lacking, but I was able to figure it out. (Video hosting sites like YT are free, guys. Making videos on your phone is free. You have one minute to make a video and you have a product you want to sell.) Make a video. Conclusion: I will stick with the continuous roll (blue) refill bags and pass on these.

Recyclable bags that don't break down into micro beads are not easy to find, and most recyclable bags are pricey. This was not only the best fit for my Litter Genie, but not horribly expensive compared to others. It's actually longer than I need, but when it gets too full for the Genie, I just open the Genie and dump litter straight into the bag. The bag easily fits over the Genie's cartridge and already has a sealed bottom, so no issues there.
