As others have said, I don't know why I waited so long to buy one of these great little inventions! The makes life so much easier and my kitties' litter boxes so much cleaner. Before, I had to find a plastic bag, make sure it didn't have any holes in it, scoop the used litter into the bag, take the bag outside..now I just scoop and I'm finished. Whenever I walk upstairs or downstairs (I purchased a second one after buying the first to celebrate my oldest cat's 23rd birthday(!)), I take a moment to scoop the used litter into the Litter Genie, leaving cleaner litter for the kitties AND for me.The refill cartridge is genius. It's so easy to cut the bag when it's time to dispose of it and to tie a knot in the next one. I wish I'd thought of this concept myself.If you're reading these reviews, you're on the fence. No need to be. It took me 23 years; don't you waste another minute. BUY IT! Your cat(s) will thank you, and you will not regret your purchase. :)EDIT 7-16-13: If you're thinking that it might be too stinky to switch bags when it's time (that was my fear), I can tell you that it isn't! The bag is cut off right after opening the lid to pull the bag out, and is not off-putting at all.

Other than the fact that we had to go on-line to find out how to first use the bags with the Litter Genie Plus, that product with a replacement pack constitutes a good system. This replacement pack fits both the Litter Genie & Litter Genie Plus. The pack is actually one long tube of litter bag type of material that is tied off to create a "bag", and later cut whenever you want to discard some cat feces. Then more is pulled down and re-tied, with that process being repeated until the entire package is empty. When starting a new replacement pack you should handle the material very gently after breaking the tab. I use the Genie mainly for feces, only occasionally including clumped litter. Sometimes you have to jiggle the Litter Genie container or push the cat feces down with the scooper while holding the "movable tray" out, but other than that, it couldn't be easier, and there is virtually no odor when the Litter Genie/Plus is closed. I keep a spare refill pack on hand for convenience. Granted the price has gone up, and it really could be a little cheaper, but still, I prefer the convenience of the pack to attempts to "hack" the system by trying to use large garbage bags, because the Litter Genie refill packs are strong enough, and with one cat (Chloe) lasts us for weeks.

Let's be real-we may love our cats but nobody really likes cleaning cat litter. This is a family website so I'll just say that it's gross, but necessary. A friend told us about the litter genie litter disposal system, and we have fullyl adopted it. Dirty litter is deposited into the bags that are placed into a canister, and once they are full they are easily disposed of. Let's owners keep the cat litter clean without constantly having to change the litter. The litter box is cleaner and less smelly, and makes the cats happier and healthier.I do have some issues with the canister itself, around ease of use and cleanliness, but this review is for the refill bags. They work fine, except that on a couple of occasions (over 8 years of use) the liner did not pull out or dispense properly and I ended up with double thickness for the bags. It was a problem but not a major one, and so I recommend this product.

This is better than the cartridge that came with the Litter Genie! The first time, the blue bag wouldn't stop coming out. I decided to buy another one and this one worked perfectly! I have to tug the bag, it doesn't come unraveling. No more stinky grocery bags in the trash. The Litter Genie really does control the smell. A little pricey, but I'm sick of using grocery bags

I don't know when this began, but litter genie bag quality is reduced to something that can't seem to control odor as well as it did before. If it can't control odor, why use litter genie?

Tried a few cheaper imitations but no comparison, these are amazing , down side the time they take to arrive . Can not fault these ...no smell and last ages

Tengo ya 3 años usando Litter Genie y la verdad es que me ha facilitado mucho el cuidado de mis gatos. Puede que los repuestos sean "caros" pero vale la pena al no tener ni un solo desagradable olor en casa. Con 9 gatos y viviendo en un departamento debo de echar mano de lo mejor para mantener los olores a raya y esto es definitivamente lo mejor de lo mejor.
