No need for costly recirculating lines and pumps. And when you want to eliminate the wait for hot water but need more volume, install the Eco smart heater in-line with a larger hot water source, such as a tankless heater or a storage tank heater. Lightweight and compact, these units plug into a standard 110 volt outlet.

The Ecosmart mini water heater is a great choice for those sinks that take forever to get hot water. We had our plumber install it under our kitchen sink. The water in the kitchen would take at least 1 minute just to feel warm. It was annoying and wasteful. I stumbled upon these mini heaters on Amazon and decided to give the Ecosmart a try since it had the smallest dimensions. We placed it in the cabinet under our sink right next to the garbage disposal. It fits there well, and leaves behind enough storage space for dish soap, dishwasher pods, garbage bags, etc. The Ecosmart plugs into a regular outlet, and thankfully we already had a free one under the sink. The Ecosmart is very simple to use. It has one knob on the front that controls the temperature. That's it. Unfortauntely, the knob doesn't have any markings to let you know what temperature the water will be, so there will be a little trial and error test period needed. We have ours set to just a little bit past the center line. That gives us water that's very warm, but not scalding hot, and perfect for washing dishes and hands. The front of the unit has two indicator lights; power and heating. The set-up works amazingly well. Now when we turn on the hot water we get hot water in only a couple of seconds, and once the hot water in the Ecosmart's tank starts to deplete, in about 2 minutes, the hot water from the hot water heater has reached the sink, so there are only a few seconds where the water temperature drops a bit. The Ecosmart cycles on and off as needed to keep the water temperature in the tank within your set range throughout the day.All in all... a great solution for instant hot water.

Purchased this for my folks because their kitchen sink is as far away from the main water heater in the basement as possible in their house. They used to have to wait for over a minute before the hot water got there and now turn it on an immediate hot water. They said that they could measure the difference in water usage on their bill and waiting for hot water cost around $10/month.The heater was easy to install by itself, just divert the incoming hot water into this tank and then from the tank to the faucet. The only snag was installing an actual duplex outlet for the dishwasher since it was previously direct wired in. Now, everything works great.

Usually takes years to know for sure but this one looks like it will last for awhile. Quick replacement install.

After reading other reviews, I bought this unit to go under my kitchen sink, which is far from the hot water tank. I never got hot water at the sink before. The unit is small enough to fit under the sink, even with all the drain lines and waste disposal to fit it around. I already had a plug at the back of the sink cabinet, so I did not need to do any electrical work. The unit is working great. I set it's temperature half way on its scale and in 3 1/2 minutes the red light turned off and I had very hot water in the sink. So, having just installed it, I think this unit provides a good solution. However, I gave it only 4 stars because of the difficulty in installation. I would not have been able to install it without the help of others that commented on the unit and provided further instructions. There are NO instructions with the unit. To help others, I am providing some further details on the actual install that I did. Hope this helps save you some time.Where the hot pipe comes into the sink cabinet, after the shutoff value, I disconnected the hot line that went up to the faucet. That line needed to be connected to the input on the heater and then, the heater output gets connected to the faucet. The problem is that the unit has 1/2" connectors and the hot line and faucet are 3/8". I first got a 36" faucet connection cable with a 3/8" compression end to attach to the hot line at the valve, and a 1/2" FIP (Female threaded) end to attach to the heater. This in itself did not work for me. The 1/2" attachment has only a few threads to grab onto the unit's connector (a male 1/2" plastic thread), and it is not enough to get a good connection. I had tried, even using 7 layers of Teflon tape, as another user suggested, but that was not enough. It leaked. You need a deeper threaded connection. At Lowe's Hardware, I was able to find a 1/2" female to 1/2" female Brass Pipe Coupling, and a 1/2" Male (both ends) Brass Pipe Hex Nipple. That allowed me to thread the Coupling onto the unit (after 7 wrappings of Teflon tape), and then thread the Nipple into the coupling (7 more wrappings). This gave a much better threaded connection to attach the hose to. I used Teflon tape on that as well. First screw down the Coupling until tight on the unit. Then screw in the Nipple until tight on the Coupling. Then attach the Faucet Connection hose til hand tight and then tighten one half turn more with a wrench. That did the Trick. No leaks. Do the same on the output side that goes to the faucet. For the overflow, I used PVC pipe and ran it into a bucket. If there is ever an overflow, the bucket will collect it.I am not a plumber, just a homeowner. If someone else out there can add to (or correct) what I did, I welcome that.

Good product. Appears well built. Almost instant hot water. The 2.5 gallon is good for cleaning up-hands, dishes, etc. If you naturally conserve water this model may do. If not, recommend upgrading to the larger model.Easy to change temperature with a dial. I turn my down in the morning and turn it up in evening. That May not be necessary to conserve energy. It Heats quickly and stays warm for extended periods.Highly recommended for high use fixtures that are a long distance from the main hot water source.

The shower in my house especially in winter can be luke warm at it's hottest setting, got this to give it a boost. Takes about a 3-10 min or so depending on how cold the water going in is to heat up fully but when it gets hot, it can get HOT. It's great. Sometimes the indicator light turns off when I forget to turn it off after my shower but I realize that it's just telling you that it's currently heating up the water. If the water is already crazy hot it stops and the light turns off...at least that's what I think. Would not test that and always have it on and heating, turn if off after use. Pretty good all things considered.

I bought the 6 gallon heater for the tack room in my barn. It was easy to install and is working well. Of course it does not have a huge capacity, but it reheats quite quickly so it works for me to fill horse buckets, do some chores and then return for more hot water. We had a 24 hour power outage and the water was still hot after 24 hours, so the tank must be very well insulated. After doing some research I opted for this rather than a hot water on demand system and I am very satisfied.

I am saving water by getting hot water immediately in the kitchen. Also the dishwasher Gets the hot water immediately so it can do its job with hot water rather than lukewarm water. My water heater is 50 feet away and it takes almost a minute to get hot water to the kitchen
