Excellent product with the 3M adhesive seal on the backside, easy to install, will help to keep the dust out, and most if not all water getting in. Easy to do in under 30 minutes.

I found a need for this product after installing a flip-type bed cover on my Toyota Tacoma. My old Chevrolet Colorado had a Swiss lift-up cover that overlapped the tailgate and both rails, and in eleven years of service never allowed water into the bed.The flip-type covers do very well but are not water tight. If they are the kind like I have which do not overlap the tailgate, water can readily leak in around the tailgate because manufacturers do not apply door seal around it. This product alleviates this deficiency, which as a side note I think truck makers should be fixing. The seller provides the sealing material and everything needed to do a good install. In reading the reviews of those unsatisfied with the product, they seem to fall into two categories: either the product didn't adhere and therefore didn't work, or else there wasn't enough material to do the customer's truck.I believe that most of the cases in which the sealer doesn't seem to adhere or seal are due to customer error in not scrupulously following the directions. The seller is quite clear about the need to thoroughly clean the area where the sealer is to be applied with soap and water, and then after that the area also needs to be cleaned with alcohol. The seller even includes an alcohol towelette to be used for that purpose. Then, after the product is cut to the correct size as shown in the photo spread provided for each of about 15 or 16 trucks -- pick yours -- and is correctly positioned as per the testing described in detail in the instructions, the key step is to FIRMLY press the sealer adhesive onto the truck and give it some time, up to 24 hours, to cure. For measure-once-cut-twice type people this is not going to work, and I suggest such buyers find an automotive repair shop or truck supply house to do the install for them. But in the second case of insufficient material I believe that these customers might have a point, and this is why I only give four stars. In buying my Tacoma I found out that "small" trucks like my old Colorado have had growing pains in the past decade. Today's Colorado is larger than the Silverado was 10 years ago. Most of the folks complaining about material shortage have large-format trucks: F-150, Silverado or Tundra. I believe that perhaps trucks have gotten larger since this seller began marketing and that it is possible that an extra foot or two of sealer is needed for these larger truck models. If the cost of the material is too high to just throw another foot or two in then perhaps a "big truck" product at a few dollars more would fill the bill. In any case I urge the seller to re-examine whether ten feet is really enough for all larger models.I have no complaints after several weeks and many rainy days. This product effectively seals the tailgate area from water leakage even during heavy rain, and the installation documentation, both written and especially the model-by-model photos available on the seller's website, are outstanding.Recommended!

I've been using these tailgate seals since 2014 and this is the 4th truck I've used it on. Easy to install. Keeps the water and dust out from around the tailgate like a champ. Instructions are easy. I suggest watching the videos on their website for tips.

Installed this on my F150 to seal up the tailgate. First few days were fine and worked well with rain to keep items dry in the back of the truck. After I went to the car wash I found all the holes. While there were not a ton of them the issue I have is even with two strips I was not able to seal the sides of the tailgate with enough to stop the spray from getting in.Fast forward to 3 months and having firewood loaded. While sweeping out the bed many smaller pieces fell between the strip and the adhesive and ruined it. I now have a seal that is hanging down and out the back of the tailgate. I don't believe mounting the seal upside down would work either though it would likely increase the time that the tape held I think it just may not be in the cards without a better sealant.I removes stars for weak attachment tape (I washed car and used alcohol pads but it did no good).I also removed a start because no matter the placement I was not able to stop car wash spray from getting in on tailgate sides. It held it at bay somewhat, but not enough to store anything of value near the tailgate.

This is the 3rd time I have used this and it is outstanding! But make sure you follow the instructions exactly as the photos show, it really works great!

Learned of this product in a YouTube video. Followed general directions, and the stripping is adhering well and doing what it promises to do, which is seal up the seams that are designed into my pickup's tailgate. The gate was never meant to be air or water tight (in fact with water, probably the opposite) but this does indeed help seal the inside from the elements. Unfortunately, specific instructions for my (older) make and model were not readily available. However, by looking at instructions for other model installs and applying a bit of common sense as to placement that formed a seal yet did not hamper operation, was able to adapt for my vehicle. So far, very pleased with the results obtained. Gate closes nicely and no water, little air flow through those seams. Much more civil (with my topper) in the back for the occasional rest stop nap. Definitely to me worth the few dollars and fifteen to twenty minutes of fiddling required.

My main concern was will it really stick well. Most of the time they do not. I followed the instructions. Used soap and water then alcohol. Wipes were provided but I used cotton balls soaked in alcohol. You can stick and readjusting as needed. Then pressed down hard after applying. Waited 24 hours. Tried to pull off without damaging rubber. It Sticks and stayed stuck. Very pleased. Now I can keep the dust off my hunting and fishing gear . I drive a lot of gravel roads. Saved me a lot of money. Better than buying a suburban type vehicle.

Very pleased with initial results. This is the best stuff i have used yet. Time will tell if the adhesive will hold but the design and thickness of the foam rubber creates a good seal. I did use additional "magic tape" also bought off Amazon to ensure the strips of foam stuck down. This was to ensure dust doesn't get sucked in through the tail gate into my truck bed when covered by a canopy.

Have not got the pickup yet, getting things ready for when it is here. Done some research and they say this profile is good. I do hope so as I need a totally dry pickup bed.
