As with nearly all kits you find on amazon, the instructions have 'interesting English' as a staple.They aren't exactly in-depth, and while they get you going in the right direction, you kind of need trial and error to figure out how things are supposed to go.I'll be honest, I very quickly got distracted from the little sea creatures I was 'supposed' to be making and just started trying things.Those needles? They're _sharp._ Do not ignore safety. In my first few explorations i did not wear a finger protector and sent one of those puppies through my fingernail. (I'm fine. it didn't go deep.) But! Learn from my mistakes! Pay attention to where your fingers are and use protection. For tiny things like ears, that may mean tweezers or something - just get your fingers out of the way.It is delightful to see the felt come together. the fibers get pulled into the center and they stick... it's nifty.I would recommend added a flat scrub-brush with stiff bristles you can use as a felting platform. That was really the only thing this kit was missing.

I've never needle felted before, so when I saw this kit for beginners I thought why not.It has everything you need to make everything you see in the instructions with generous amounts of wool. It comes with both a booklet on making the little figures, and a booklet teaching you how to needle felt in general, both written very well. It has a QR code for videos to see someone felting the project you're on, but only two were available at this time.The finger protectors are good, but they come in two sizes only. The smaller size was a little snug on my index, which is good because you do not want these to fall off. And the larger worked well for the thumb and middle. I know they work really well because I accidentally poked my finger at one point with no damage. The needles are very nice quality and you get several. The handles are a little difficult to work. I had to use my craft hemostats to pull the plug out to fit the needle in place, but they do work well once you get it sorted out.The instructions were basic with photos for the important steps. I didn't have any trouble figuring out how to put it together. Although they didn't say how to attach the little tentacles to the jelly fish underside, so I used my spinning knowledge to make a small rope from the wool, then felted the ends into place. The hardest part was making the eyes. But what I liked most was how relaxing it was. The sound of the needle in the wool reminded me of snow when it crunches beneath your feet. Very soothing. I can see why so many people like doing this. Highly recommend.

I love that it came with wooden handles for the needle, I had never felted with one of those before. Comes with a great selection of colors and the instructions were easy to follow. Cute designs, too!

I love the designs in this kit- they are all so adorable. The instructions are more thorough than other kits I've gotten recently, so I appreciate that. I found the instructions pretty easy to follow. It's reasonably priced, especially considering how many different animals you can make with the set, and they are all really cute.

This is a great kit with ALL of the materials you need to make a ton of little sea creatures - or just let your imagine take you where it will and make whatever you want.You receive all the tools necessary, as well as a bunch of different colors of roving. It's really fun for a beginner, or someone with more experience.
