Bought for a Fender Vintage Refit.Mirrors the Fender originals. Chrome Plated Bridge with Nickel Plated Threaded Barrels vs Slots. A Leo Fender design and still one of the best bridges you can have. The Retro Barrels allows for much more precise string adjustment over the pick-up magnets and the Screws vs Allen Hex Screws make it so much easier to visually adjust the saddle height - by looking at the screw driver slot - vs the Hex Allen heads you find in most on modern lifters. Plus it really is easier to find a screw driver vs pocking through Allen wrenches to find the right size when you need to.My original bridge was Fender made and the same shape - a little thicker - and it had the same 5 screw mount to the body. But as we all know there can be alignment problems even with the same configuration. A screw hole a fraction out with the original hole in the body etc. So I decided to switch out just the original slotted saddles and replace them with the barrels. Yes of course there was a glitch. I could not use the Barrel screws because the holes in the original bridge were slightly small. The fix was easy. I checked if my original screws would fit iinto the Barrels and they did. So I used my original screws and just switched out the Barrels and springs for the original saddles and springs. Easy Peasy.Put a tiny amount of Music Nomad Tune-It in the Nut Slots and on the Bridge Barrels for smoother tuning, put on new strings and adjusted each to go on the best part of each barrel so it lay between the pick up magnets and ready to tune and play.Obviously the adjustments were my choice and not due to any deficiency in this Bridge. I am very, very happy with my purchase!!!

The threaded saddle gave me a better ability to get more of my G string closer to my D string and now more of the G string is sitting properly and further from rolling over the edge of the G side of my neck. This type bridge is great for those of us that swap out various Fender necks onto various Fender bodies and need to fine tune string spacing. Some of the more expensive and heavier duty Fender bridges do not give you this right to left/left to right string spacing allowance.Going with the lighter weight bridge does not drastically change any of the sound dynamic as far as I am concerned.Don't be afraid to swap this out as it is a five minute do it yourself job using the 5 screw hole that are already drilled into the body but do remember that the bridge ground wire must make good contact with this replacement bridge and secondly if your bass was already intonated with the old bridge still on the body make a pencil mark on a piece of masking tape where the saddle in the G string sat and be sure that this new bridge has it's saddle at that marking and you probably won't have to mess with intonation and in fact my replacement bridge was just perfectly set right out of the box for all 4 strings.

This is my favorite Fender bridge by far. I like that yo can adjust the spacing for custom nuts. works perfectly and looks great. i like that it has slotted grub screws rather than allen/hex. A+

I cannot be sure this was not a counterfit part I was sent; the metal was so thin that I ended up not using the bridge plate from this, but just the screws and saddles. This was going on a Squier bass, and the Squier's bridge was considerably thicker than the one I bought here.
