This set of tools has everything you need as a beginner minus a lighter to burn the ends of the paracord. As you expand your skills you may need specific jigs or hardware, like rings, clasps, and buckles, to make finished products.

Excellent selection of multiple sizes of fid that can be put on the end of paracord (melt the end and twist it into the open end of the appropriately sized steel tube) to make it easier to make things with paracord or other nylon cordage. Having both the straight and the bent shapes make it easier to tie some knots.The other tools, like the flattened spatula and the blunt needle and the scissors are a great bonus. However, minus one point for the flaws on the spatula. I'd rather only take off a half star, but not an option.

Now I am not very skilled with using splicing tools yet but this kit is weak.Why are the tool threaded on the ends and all the threading is different diameter. But there is not to thread them onto.The sewing needle is not very useful. Only a few tools fit into the large blue “fid”The scissors are useless at least on the paradord I was using.
