i used a little embossing set to punch the words into mine, but clear label makers would probably work best for most people. i always seem to want to be a little different though haha. anyway, these are great! they are thin as expected, so they can get a bit wrinkly with embossing (especially longer names) but i did not expect them not do that. also they are copper, so of course i also expected some oxidation and yes, some of them have gotten some light surface oxidation on them so far. some others have not. i am perfectly happy with them either way, we live out in the woods on a mountain so the rustic look totally suits us. i got these to mark my plants in the garden that i just redid this summer, so that when things start growing again in the spring i will know what plants are where and what might be weeds. i do like them and plan to get more next year when i redo my other gardens. if by chance something goes terribly wrong with them over winter (when they'll be covered in snow for months), i will update my review in the spring when that is revealed. in fact i will try to remember to give an update either way.

I absolutely love these! I tried 2 different label styles - writing the plant name with a Sharpie, which works well & looks nice. The writing does stay through rain, bright hot sun, & regular watering, but then I tried using labels from my label maker which turned out to be my favorite way to use these. I love that the name really stands out while still being able to see the beautiful copper of the marker/stake. The label has also stayed on without showing wear & tear through rain, sleet, hail, & intense hot high altitude burning sun. Now that they've been exposed to the elements for a couple months mine are starting to develop a beautiful patina. Whether you use a Sharpie or a label maker, either way works & looks terrific! I love these markers/stakes! They're beautiful, functional, sturdy, well made & really make your garden/landscape look finished & professional. Most importantly they help me know what I planted where.P.S. The label maker I used was a "Brother P-Touch Pt-d210 Label Maker Labeler - LCD Display and Qwerty Easy-to-Use".

After years of settling for crappy plastic plant labels that are prone to fading & disintegrating from sun exposure, and wood plant labels that rot quickly I decided it was time to invest in metal labels which are almost infinitely reusable. Not only should these last practically forever, but they also look so much more beautiful and professional. Plastic plant labels are ugly and when they break can leave bits of plastic in the garden which is of course completely undesirable. Wood labels are less visually offensive, but dont last very long at all making them unreliable. Investing in a good set of these metal plant labels not only upgrades the aesthetics of the garden, but the reusable nature of these labels also means spending less money in the long run because they won't need replaced constantly.

These markers make a nice addition to a garden, identifying your plants without detracting from them. I preferred a prior order that are angled as opposed to these that are straight, but that was easily remedied by bending these back slightly so the copper plate face more upward.

They were just as nice and a good bit less expensive than a similar product.

With the humidity here in TX, they corroded almost overnight. It's difficult to even read what's written on them. And, yes I used a black sharpie to Wright with.

I needed tags for indoor house plants that could be used over and over. These are fairly sturdy, good looking and can be used over and over again. The prongs are slim and prevent damage to roots. I used a felt pen —- which is easily removed with rubbing alcohol. The copper is thin enough that it could easily bend. You just have to be mindful of that. I only wish there were different lengths. These feel too short to use in our vegetable garden.

These labels are great, love that they are re-useable & look sharp in the plant beds. Only slight negative is the label portioned isn't angled to view from standing position, but easily rectified by bending them back.

Good quality but would prefer tilted label holder but easy to adjust. Have bought several times.

I used a grease pen to write my plant names when planting last fall and you can still read them all now as clearly as when I wrote them. Definitely recommend!
