This device is nicely machined with a metal threaded ring to attach to the lens, and the sturdy plastic hood fits on the ring with 4 spring-loaded detent balls placed around the inside of the ring to hold it in position and let you rotate the hood to align it and avoid vignetting. You can reverse the hood by simply popping the hood off the threaded ring, reversing it, and pushing it back on. It's all produced with a nice black matte finish. Nice hood for the kit lens.

Great little shade for the Sony 16-55 kit lens. Fits perfectly and makes the kit lens look 100x better on the camera body aesthetically. Beyond that it does its job well and filters are easily screwed in over it.

It's beefier than most factory hoods, but the overall design idea is great. I've never seen this concept before, but it works great. The hood can be attached two ways, inwards and outwards. Or it can be removed while the attaching ring can stay on the lens increasing the distance between the glass and the camera bad for example, about 1/4".

Got a few of these lens hoods for my 16-50mm Sony kit lenses, and they're the best lens hoods you could possibly have. They're reversible., they're thin, they block the light and just as important --- they look incredibly great. I just bought two more.

Lens hood has very good coverage over the kit lens of the a6000. The lens cap with string is also nice to string through the strap rings on the camera body so that you don't have to keep taking a lens cap in and out of your pocket. With that being said, the size of the lens hood is fine if you just keep it out. If you reverse it, it's a little hard to use the manual focus since the lips of the cover are long enough to go over the half of the whole lens body. This almost defeats the purpose of having it be reversible. Would recommend if you don't plan to use multiple lenses, but that would also almost defeat the purpose of having a mirrorless camera.

When I purchased my Sony a6000 I didn't think there would be so few lens hood options for the 16-50mm kit lens as there are. Rather than purchase a clear filter for protection (I can do without the extra glass/plastic causing potential lens flare) I went with this $9 option and overall, I have been pleased with it. While it's not the best hood you will ever use in your lifetime, it certainly isn't the worst.Pro's-Made of a sturdy, hard plastic-Comes with its own lens cover-Uses the same 40.5mm threads as the kit lens, allowing you to use the the same filters, with or without the hood attached.Cons-Because it is dual threaded, it you will find that it is not made for a quick removal when you want to reverse it for storage-It's a bit of a cramped space with the flower extending so far when you are trying to attach or remove filters from the inner threads. If you're looking for inexpensive protection and do not plan on removing it often, it's worth a look.

I googled it and found a YouTube by TechDoc - it's very easy, just not initially intuitive. I have Sony a6000 with standard 16-50 lens.

Funciona excelentemente bien, se acopla perfectamente, buenos materiales y muy funcional además de darle un aspecto más PRO al lente 16-50mm.

I only just got it but I'm impressed both by it's build quality and fit. There is an inner metal ring which needs to be screwed onto the lens first and then the natural lens hood is click on it's got three little ball bearings or something and it can click onto the lens either in reversed or to be used sticking out as normal..I think if the summer ever gets here it's gonna be very useful. And I have two lenses like this so I'll be able to move it from one to the other on bright sunny days!Right now it's spending It's time on my a5100 and I'm looking forward to taking it out for a spin as it were.RecommendedWell-made.
