To start off with, I've never had a dedicated cheese slicer before, so the only thing I can compare this to are regular knives. With that said, this was far better than my knife when I sliced into my slab of marble cheese.There's a thick slicer than can but 3mm slices, and a thin side where it can cut 2mm slices. I'm not a cheese connoisseur so these 2 sides are more than enough for me and my grocery store cheddar/marble slab.It does appear to be durable, anyway I don't have any worries about this thing falling apart. It is also dishwasher safe, which is super convenient. I thought that wire would snap off, but it did not.Overall, for $9 I think this is a good buy if you slice a moderate amount of cheese slabs. There really is a difference between this dedicated cheese slicer vs a regular knife.

Great cheese slicer for charcuterie boards and sandwiches. I have a really nice spatula type slicer that I use for cheese, but it makes for very thin, wafer thin slices of cheese, which is nice for some things..but if I wanted slices to arrange for a platter, I had to cut with a knife. This gives two thickness of slices that are uniform and straight So much better than a knife. Easy to wash. Hopefully the wires hold up well. I guess if you store it properly, you will be fine. I like this tool.

This cheese cutter works well and is easy to hold. It is great for slicing blocks of cheese and primarily works for more thick slices as opposed to wafer thin ones which some cutters are good at making. It is solidly constructed and well thought out and as noted above, it fits the hand well. A simple yet effective kitchen tool. Recommended.

This is my first cheese-cutting knife and I can say that it definitely makes the blocked cheese easier to cut now there's another reason for me to get the cheese that is not pre-cut to get more value. It's definitely worth it. There is however no sheath to this, perhaps because those are string-based. I would not want to touch the string by accident though. Overall it's easy to handle and grip, great for cheese lovers.
