This is my first try at uaing a thermostatic valve. It does a remarkably good job at maintaining temperature, especially consodering my application. I have an RV with limited hot water. I added a tankless booster heater inline with the main water heater. I set the tankless to the highest temperature it goes to (which is scalding/danger level hot). I then ran that to the hit side, and cold water to the cold side. With the cold water shut off (as a test), this will completely shut off the hot water. The same happens when the hot is shut off, so it is capable of full on to full off automatic adjustment. With both on, it is receiving suler hot water on the hot line for a few seconds, which then starts to taper down to moderate hot (as the main hot water tank gets spent) and then tapers down to about 85F when both tanks are spent and the only heat is coming from two constabt on 1440w elements. This valve is able to adjust through all of those stages with minimal manual adjustment. I would estimate is stays within 5 degrees between the extreme inpit temoerature changes. Also, the rv shower head has a pause button that can be used tk pause or slow the flow. When using that, this valve also adapted. Going drom full pause to full on there way probanly more of a 10 degree shift for a second before it stabalized. That is mainly due to the fact that water has to flow for the valve to adjust, so it needs more thab a trickle to stay in target. Still, it kept the water at comfortabke temoeratures through all of these tests. Botton line, I'm a new fan of thernostatic valves. These should be everywhere. I hope to find a thermostatic valve that is meant for my RV shower, instead of the tubes and hack that I have set up now. It's hard to find a thermostatic rv valve though. Most rv valves are made for tubs instead of showers, and I need a thermostatic rv shower valve.

I believe the valve I received was either used - or this manufacture has poor quality control. When inspecting, I noticed the threads were damaged, and the valve was still full of water. I am unsure if this was because they test the valves before shipping - or if it was a returned item.Receiving a valve that is full of strange water that I am installing on my house plumbing is not acceptable. The housing of the brass also had defects from the casting process - which makes me questions the integrity of the manufacturing process.Overall, I do not recommend purchasing this model, I would look at other brands. I disposed of it, the lack of quality worried me I would have a bad product in an important plumbing system.

I got this thermostatic valve to install in my outdoor shower which has now moved to the back burner until I get time to finish it. However, I wanted to test the valve now rather than wait until I finish the project. I connected a small electric point of use tankless water heater on the hot side of the valve and a garden hose on the cold side, with some spare plumbing parts I had on hand for the purpose of this test. After letting the water run for 2 minutes I tested the water temp using an instant read digital temperature gauge at 3 different temperatures, 95, 100 and 113 degrees. Bearing in mind, I could not calibrate the temp gauge, and this is just a basic test. At 95 and 113 degrees the reading was spot on with my temp gauge. With the valve set on 100 degrees my temp gauge read 101 degrees. For a non-scientific, clandestine setup the temperatures were remarkably close on all three samples and was able to replicate the same results on the second attempt. While I am a retired R&D lab tech, this test was not done in a laboratory under a controlled environment, still, the accuracy of this FUGO thermostatic mixing valve proved to be extremely accurate, which surprised the hell out of me.

This is a great valve for situations where input water temperature is variable (cabins, RV's, old equipment). It is very nicely made of solid brass. The temperature adjustment turns very smoothly, and the range is excellent! I have no idea why California didn't want me to have one of these - I find it very useful.
