Your cart is empty. Each strip of Turners Mesh has tiny holes in it to allow the wood particles to pass through. This helps prevent clogging the abrasive surface which makes the strips perfect for sanding project on your lathe. The material is flexible so it easily conforms to the rounded shapes of spindles, vases, bowls and more.

Good value for the price. I like the fact that the dust does not collect on the strip like sandpaper will. When sanding bowls, pens, whatever on my lathe, I can run through sandpaper very quickly. The mesh is lasting me roughly 4 times as long. It can be aggressive, though, so take it easy with those 180 grit pieces.

Really good sandpaper. Does not tear very easily at all though.

I have been using these on walnut, palm and other hardwoods since I got them. So far they are working very well, especially with purpleheart in that it doesn't get clogged with dust and stop working. Clearing the dust and keeping the sanding going is reducing the time I spend finishing my projects and these are working very well. I am definitely ordering more so I do not run out any time soon!

I turned bowls for a local shop and I was looking for some nice mesh for turning some green white oak I had. I don't have many tool marks left on my bowl when done so I don't usually have to sand a lower grits very long to get a very smooth finish. This sanding mesh is will only last for around 60 seconds sanding for it's not abrasive at all anymore. It's just not usuable for what I wanted. While it works, it works well and removes wood quickly though. I now use it to stand the grain back up by hand before going to another sanding method.I'll try to find another mesh that will work for me.

This is NOT sandpaper. This will sand wood (kind of), but doesn't work well for resins. It barely lets particles through it (what little it takes off), and holds most of it against the surface. Last night I used it on a walnut pen I was turning, and though it did eventually sand it down, it either burnt the surface of the wood or left an oxide of some type behind that wouldn't come off. Resulted in a rather blackened hue.
