Goal was to get a spotless car rinse, mission accomplished. Used this housing, an empty media cartridge, and about 6 pounds of mixed bed di resin. Also a pre-filter smaller housing with a carbon filter to get the big chunks.Only con I have is first pressure test is LEAKED and bad. First through was filter wasn't seated right preventing the housing from sealing, bit of messing around found out the o-ring was dry. I put some sink silicone gasket lube all around and it sinched right up. Pressure tested at the 75psi of the house water for several hours. Buy some lube and relube the o-ring whenever you open the system. As this feeds a pressure washer the purge button on the top is wonderful. I know the housing is 100% free of air

Regarding this specific product: Geekpure 20-Inch Whole House Clear Water Filter Housing with Wrench and Bracket-Fit 4.5" x 20" Filters 3/4" PortThe Amazon product description says this (when I purchased it, 4/22): "NOTE:THE MATERIAL OF CLEAR HOUSING IS NOT STRONG AS BLUE COLOR HOUSING,SUGGESTED WORK PRESSURE IS UNDER 50 PSI"In another point of the item description it says this: "This filter housing has a maximum operating pressure rating of 80 psi, if you suspect that your water pressure will at any time exceed 60 psi, a pressure regulator MUST BE INSTALLED before the filter housing. this action will guard against the water pressure exceeding the maximum pressure rating.it is recommended that the pressure regulator be set at 50 psi or less."There had been other customer reviews/answers discussing some related issues and concerns, so this (above warning and contradictory description) concerned me a little as my water pump range is 40-60 PSI.I went ahead and purchased and upon arrival was somewhat relieved to read the label on the housing which says something completely different (see photo): "This filter housing has a maximum operating pressure rating of 90psi, if you suspect that your water pressure will at any time exceed 80psi, a pressure regulator MUST BE INSTALLED before the filter housing (set at 70psi), this action will guard against the water pressure exceeding the maximum pressure rating."This gives me additional comfort that my installation will not overly stress the housing. To give me additional peace of mind I contacted the manufacturer about this contradiction and got this reply:>>> Good day! It is Cira from Geekpure Water Group. Thank you for choosing Geekpure Water Filters! I'd like to share some lab test result.Blue housing:burst pressure: 340 psi.fatigue test : 0-150 PSI cycle test, 100K times.Clear Housing:burst pressure: 340 psi.fatigue test : 0-150 PSI cycle test, 17.6 K times.you see fatigue test result is big different. we know clear housing is very convenient to monitor filters working, but the material is weak than blue type .Suggested feed water pressure for clear housing: 50-60 psi. It may enlarge life time of housing.if over 60 psi, the life time may 1-3 years.>>>I find their response reassuring to my installation. And I'm now enlightened about the long-term life expectancy of a clear housing being significantly less than the solid blue version (which I am replacing). Something I'll keep in mind, but not worry about given my residential installation and usage pattern.Thought I'd pass this on to others scratching their heads and wondering about the different specifications. And on a side note, the threads on these clear housings would not work on my old (circa 2012) Blue Housing mounts, though the Blue mounts threaded the clear housing just fine. Weird. So I had to change out the mounting brackets which turned this into a major plumbing project, not the simple swap-out I had hoped for.

I am on a well. I picked this up because sediment was causing my sprinkler diaphragm valves to clog. I had it professionally installed. After a year with it, I am amazed at how much is getting trapped by this! The sprinklers are doing much better now, but I can only imagine what this will do for all my plumbing long term. The first time I replaced the filter, I had to read the manual to do it right -- hint: there is a pressure relief button and have a bucket of water prepared before you shut off the water. But the whole process was easy enough. Overall, glad I picked this up.

Installed filter system because of high iron in water. This housing worked great, if I have problems I'll update the review

Replaced A pair of 10 inch water filter housings with this single 20 inch housing. I chose this one for the clear housing so I could monitor the filter.I was worried with all plastic construction, I wrapped the fitting with a lot 10 layers of Teflon tape and I have not had any leaks.I am using DGD1-20BB filter micron rating nominal 1, 10 hon flow rate and have not noticed a drop in flow rate. In fact an improvement from the small housing with a 10 micron filter..With the 1 µm filter I could tell my ice cubes actually cleared up, not clear but much better than it was before.I have no reservations in recommending this filter and I am on public water. My Fossetts and appliances outlast my friends and neighbors. I don’t notice a difference in taste I’m only filtering for particulatesbottom line I think you’re making a mistake by not filtering your water, add a filter you won’t be sorry

Filter housing looked great. I went for the clear housing to keep an eye on the filter cartridge condition. Never had a problem until last week. I was out of town and started to get several video doorbell alerts from neighbors telling me my house was leaking. Fortunately I had a friend who could go check things out. Filter housing broke off at the threaded base resulting in 60 psi water running uncontrolled for several hours in my garage. Luckily it’s a slab on grade garage. If this was inside a home it would have been a total disaster. Sent an email to customer service but still haven’t received a response. I have a second filter housing with a charcoal cartridge that I’m nervous about. Will probably remove both and install the big blue opaque filter housing. Very surprised at the housing failure point. The images and technical details for these housings seem to conflict as far as acceptable water psi. They mention 80 psi, then say never exceed 50 psi if read more about it. I’m not sure what’s actually true as far as operating psi since the clear filter housing never failed. The housing based broke off and the clear housing fell down onto concrete and cracked. I’m certainly purchasing a smart water main shutoff valve. Would not recommend installing this in any finished area of your home.

I saw a few negative reviews so I was initially hesitant to purchase the filter. I purchased a few and this is my review of the unit. The filter housing and price are good. The plastic part can not take the heat from soldering the copper pipes, therefore; the soldering needs to be completed for a short distance before attaching it to the housing. In case that you are familiar with plumbing and have experience then purchase the model with 1" fittings as it includes a brass insert in the plastic housing which is stronger and less susceptible to getting damaged during installation. Here are a few recommendation to prevent the filter or housing from leaking:- Use the pink Teflon tape on the threads- Apply O-ring lubricant to the O-ring washer in the housingWe have been this and other filters with the city water and we have noticed a significant improvement in the quality, taste and smell of the local water.

you will need additional plumbing fittings but the product is as described and works excellent. i like that it is clear so i can see when to replace the filter because i have a lot of iron in my water. Don't forget to use vaseline on the rubber gasket or it may leak from the seal.

This is a heavy duty and robust unit and it works well in the main house water line. Has 3/4" fittings, which is standard for most houses. It comes with a heavy duty frame to hang on the wall. I recommend the 1 micron filter for municipal water systems. It catches any fine grit, but does not provide sanitation. That requires a UV filter, which is not needed using city water. I have two tiny comments - the O ring seems a bit small for high pressures. That said, it does not leak. The threaded inlet and outlet are plastic, so be careful connecting a copper pipe. Using brass fittings requires at least six layers of teflon tape so it won't leak. Plastic fittings such as Pex, etc. should be easier to use. Overall, it is a good unit and I expect to get years of use from it. It is better than the rainfresh units that I have used for years.

Out of the box the product seemed solid and well made. Once installed I had two out of three leaking through the pressure relief value and the third leaking from the NPT threads no matter how much Teflon tape I used. I wish I had a more positive review as I know people using these filter canisters, but mine were no good.
