Threads on vessel are horrible the oring where top meets bottom is ridiculous and manufacturer told me to have spares i have spare everything but should have to replace inferior oring everytime i change filter this thing will be nothing but a costly leaking headache

Great price on this unit. Came with bleeder valve for the bottom and pressure gauge for the top that tells you when you should change the filter. Installed with a 1 micron filter in a rental with well water and glacial silt in the water. Yes, glacial silt. Extremely fine particles. Renters are very happy with performance of this bag filter system. I am glad I didn't spend a bunch of money one elsewhere.

Awesomly Awesome at what it does!Sure it is expensive. But when you compare it to buying a standard Big Blue and changing an expensive sediment filter every 2 months it pays for itself!This is what is known as a bag vessel filter. It has a drain valve at the bottom and uses filter "bags" that serve one purpose. They filter gunk and sediment and are very cheap and as you can drain them and give them a flush they last and last and last.So you put one of these bad boys in front of your more expensive filter. Say you're doing a dual stage or a three stage this one is good at catching big particles and flushing itself. Don't make the mistake of using a standard Big Blue for the first stage if you have really dirty water coming in.This thing has three big points, and I'm repeating myself:1 - Valve on bottom makes them flushable. Long Life.2 - Flows fast, extremely low back pressure while holding tons of gunk.3 - Longer life filters also super cheap compared to traditional 4.5x20 sediment filters.Great first stage for rainwater, other water source with lots of sediment.

I bought this to replace a 25 year old filter enclosure. This one is as high a quality as the original - which is a bit rare these days. There are cheaper ones that look like knock offs with funny little red dots where the pressure gauge installs on the top of the housing. Avoid the hassle of a potential leak, and buy the original.

Purchased the filter body and the mounting bracket, however, the body head mounting holes are not tapped. We are installing thread inserts after tapping the holes to increase strength of the fastener threads. Remain aware of this design shortcoming.

the product I ordered is supposed to have a pressure gauge and a drain valve. The unit I received has neither and the casing does not appear to support these. Looks like the wrong product was delivered for a time sensitive job. To top it off there is no, report problem tab on the order page.

Its a great product that is built to last. Good solid plastic and better filtration then the RUSCO sand products that I had before. I have to installed one 5micron and 1micron they do the job.
