This was set up on a transit connect 2014. It is a bit confusing to set up but only because this it is a product designed for a variaty of vehicles - the set uo is not set in stone. We set it up at home for that same reason - to practice before going camping. Now that we did it once it should be a breeze to do it again.I used an old bungee cord that had hooks on the ends. Cut the bungee in half and used it to attach to my rims. This way i didnt need to thread that plastic buckle through the rims which seemed difficult.You can set it up with two poles or one in the center. For the price this seemed to provide more cover and versatility than one of those pull out roofs/awnings that you can have attached to the side of your car. Even tho those give your car a cool overlander look, I still have to use my van for work. (The biggest game changer was adapting my roof rack to fit this cargo box i had. Now all I carry is on top and I have plenty of modest room to sleep).The tent/shade/roof folds nicely into a carry bag wich has plenty of space even if you dont fold it perfectly.The only thing i didnt like (but will modify) would be painting the steaks on some bright color as the green that came with keept getting lost in the grass. Will paint the top ends fluorescent.If you are looking for this type of set up, you have found it in this brand. I hope this review helps. Good luck.

Only had one chance to use, but seems pretty durable and waterproof--kept us nice and dry. Gives nice big cover and keeps shell dry too.

I wasn’t sure how large this was but wow. I was able to tie it to the back of my softtopper and still have plenty of shade. I am also going to try it between my two tents.I like that I can use it multiple ways, seems good quality so I hope it lasts a while.

You get a lot of material to crowd under, but the lack of structure makes it less than ideal to be under.If there was another (taller) pole to bump up the center or a tent pole that inserted in the structure the create some shape this would be a great buy

This is pretty easy to set up and use on my 2015 Honda CRV. It offers additional shade and protection from rain at the back of the car.

They are extremely well made and designed and I am a geartop fan.This awning is fantastic, well thought out, well made and of good materials. It comes in a bag that has enough room for you to be able to put the tarp back in without a struggle.I understand that the poles are shock corded and in many sections to fit in the bag. I got this for the tarp, not necessarily for the poles that came with it. I found it easier to set up with my own telescoping poles in addition to these poles. If you are going to get this and use it regularly I suggest getting an extra set of telescoping poles to give you a stronger set up and more versatility and set up options.Thank you for reading my review and looking at my photos of this product. This wasn’t a product that I had super high hopes for, but it works pretty well. I tend to spend a lot of time out at the outdoor sporting club and this is a great option for me to set up at he back of my vehicle to shade my gear and also escape sun or rain. It’s not easy to put up if you are solo, but it’s simple with two people. Packed up neatly and doesn’t take up too much space in my vehicle when not in use.
