5 stars mainly because they are very easy to put on and take off. The stetchable straps are velcro so all you have to do is to loop each strap thru the opening, press against the velcro and you are good to go. I use them during the hot summer since I already have an armored motorcycle jacket for colder weather. More protection with metal and sometimes I leave them on when I go shopping. Other shoppers would stare at them and it makes me feel like I am "Bad to the Bone". I also polish the steel to make me look like a knight in "shining armor". Kool product and the stetchable straps make them comfortable to wear. Aug 2018 Update: I find this product more useful than my motorcycle pants because it allows me to wear any pants I want. I did modify it to make it easier to attach and remove by using a set of "Wake Cover Tie Down Straps". I just "snap" to attach and "pinch" to release.

These things are absolutely horribleA thin flimsy metal plate that cant even keeps its safe or form just from kneeling in it.I kneeled down to grab my water and the plastic chipped off and the metal dented immediatelyI got these to slide in at a haunt and I could barely kneel in them....I immediately took them off after that first kneel...I cant imagine they would actually protect someone riding...Im so mad I wasted my time and money on these..I was so excited to try these out...And it was such a letdown...

I never put these to the test because I bought these to mountain bike in and they were just uncomtorble and slide a lot when I tried them on. So I returned them but they seemed very sturdy and I believe that they would have done a good job protecting my knees and elbows.

I have my son wear these pads every time he’s on his motor-cross bike. I’m one of those over protective moms that always has him wear a helmet & pads. I’d wrap him in bubble wrap if I could. Haha! I feel like he’s protected well with these pads. I’m giving it 4 stars just because after several hours of wearing them he says they aren’t so comfortable. He says they are great & comfortable for up to 2-3 at a time.
