If you want to have some fun this weekend, Google the term "thermite". You only need a few basic ingredients (all available on Amazon) to create a an amazing fireball. You will need this magnesium ribbon as a fuse. Cut about 8" and push half of it into you thermite. Then us a propane torch to light the end of the exposed ribbon. It burns slowly so you can get a safe distance away. Don't worry to much about getting the torch to close to your thermite and igniting it. It needs a much hotter flame (such as that created by the magnesium burn) to ignite.Have fun! Yea science!

Stuff is a joke. First it doesn't stay lit, goes out after burning maybe two inches. They call it a roll. But last I checked a roll was one piece. This is 6in strips. And last, I'd like to see the scale they get their 8lb weight. The shipping package says 2oz. Don't waste your time or money.

It's good for the price. It served it's purpose nicely. It will burn for about 6 inches before going out, which is more than I needed anyway. It should be noted that you will need more heat to light this brand than most others. I used a "tri-flame" butane pipe lighter, which works great.

Does not burn. Held my lighter to it with the hottest part of the flame for a longggggg time. I question if it is even really Magnesium.

Looks really, really cool! My son cannot wait to do the 2Mg + O2 = 2 MgO experiement by burning a piece of the magnesium ribbon. Of course, we will make sure he does it safely. The sample came on time and was well-packaged! Thank you.
