Just bought and mounted this reel in my barn, to get the air hose tangle off the ground. Comes with expansion bolts for mounting, but I needed to mount to a 12" pole, so I used lag bolts (not supplied). The bracket could be a few inches taller to make turning the mounting bolts easier. You will need a socket or ratchet wrench to tighten the bolts because the coiled air hose is in the way. I guess you could unwind the hose before mounting, but that would probably require a helper. The reel pulls and retracts as it should, and the fittings did not leak.

I haven't written many reviews on products, I expect things to work and that's it. And this product did, until it didn't. The air hose is good quality, well built and easy to use. I had my air hose reel for about a year, then the internal spring broke. I didn't expect much from the company, but I reached out to them about a warranty. I was totally surprised by the excellent customer service I received. They responded to my initial email quickly, then subsequent emails even quicker! After a couple of short emails between us they had already shipped a replacement unit to me. All of this happened in one day. I am really impressed with not only the air reel, but the customer service too, that makes a lot of difference to me. I was emailing with Mary at Giraffe Tools, and she was AWESOME!!! If I ever need another air reel, or can recommend an air reel to anyone it will be from Giraffe Tools, and it will be because of the customer service.

I do like this reel, the quality is decent and the price is reasonable with a small gripe. The retract works well and pulls the hose all the way in without fuss. But the most annoying thing is the hose STINKS! I'll give it a few days, hopefully the smell subsides but if not it'll have to go back. I can't hardly stand the smell in the garage.

Works great and is much better than wrapping that air hose up all the time! Easy to mount as well. I did buy a longer leader hose than what was supplied, by my small tank sits on the floor!

Install took some patience, it only came with concrete bolts, would be nice if it came with it came with 4 heavy duty bolts to go into wood. There are no air line connectors which I knew before purchasing. The back bracket where you attach it to the wall is quite small, it would be better with a larger plate as it's very difficult to get a wrench back there with the reel in the way to lock the bolts. A bigger plate would give you more space to access the 4 bolts, but for the cost, you get what you pay for. It's a pretty good deal for the cost. Just take care of it.It seems pretty good, although the steel seems fairly thin so as long as you don't plan to yank on it or be rough with , it should last, but it's certainly not strong enough to use in a shop where mechanics would be rough on the reel. But for a home shop where you are gentle with it, it should last. The hose is very soft, hopefully it's thick and won't burst over time. I'm not sure how good the spring it just yet, it doesn't seem overly strong hopefully will last. I will have to revisit this review in a few months after I've had more time to use it.

The retractable hose is easy to pull out and retract. the unit is well made and easy to install.

I read the reviews before I bought this and have had it mounted in my shop several days now. On the high side, mine did come with the short connection hose to hook up to the compressor, some reviews said it did not. However, neither end of the hose had the appropriate fitting that you can tighten without spinning everything attached, so I could not hook it up to the external valve on my compressor. I had to use a few connections I had in stock to make it work. Another high side is it is pretty, looks great on the wall. However, you need a mule train to pull the hose out past about 1/3rd of the way. It pulled out really heavy. Also, this is not 50 feet as suggested. There is a warning not to pass a marker near the end of the hose, or it will break the return, so you loose about 3 feet of length. Hose quality looks great, very nice and pleasant to use. I have used it lightly for a week now, and I have noticed the hose does not retract all the way anymore. It is hanging about 2 feet from fully recoiling to the chuck. I am not sure why that is taking place but it is annoying. My old hand crank hose cradle is not going anywhere fast, It still hanging where it was. If I have to pull out any length of hose past 25 feet, out the shop door as an example, I will be connecting to it, and using my old one. I recommend this product for a shop bench or small garage application, but it falls a bit short for farm duty..

Offers good quality at a great price. Hose retract is very strong. Hose seems to be flexible buy have not had a cold temperature use yet. Yes could have designed the mount plate better but installation is manageable.
