The combination circuit breaker/switch allows the power from the solar panels to the charge controller or, from the battery bank to the power inverter to be switched off as desired or to act as an overload protector for the expensive charge controller, power inverter and other components after that in the system.Quality of the GLOSO circuit breaker/switch seems to be very good. The body of the switch is heavy duty plastic. Terminal screws and nuts are made from stainless steel to resist corrosion in a salt-water marine environment. Terminal screws are 1/4-28 which is a good size to handle the current load and properly hold the larger o-ring connectors for a larger cable diameter like 4AWG or thicker. The top has a thick rubber gasket that looks to be assembled correctly. There are even seals over the screws holding the top cover to the body. The unit is rated at IP67 which means that it is water resistant against occasional splashing. It is NOT rated at IP68 which is a "waterproof" immersion rating. Based on the sealing and construction of the outer shell, I believe this switch/circuit breaker will provide long service for a marine environment. Probably overkill for my solar/battery application.I chose the "Surface Mount" configuration to give me the most options of where and how to mount the switch/breaker. I can mount it outside, in a weatherproof box, between the solar panels and the charge controller or, I can mount the switch/breaker in between the battery bank and power inverter. The surface mount configuration allows me to access the switch and terminals from in front which aids my assembly. Unfortunately, there is no insulating shroud to go over the terminal lugs, after attaching powered leads, to prevent accidental shorts across the terminals. I tested the switch and it is positive acting as well as functional to interrupt power. The switch arm was strong and felt like it would not break off with continual use.In conclusion, I believe this GLOSO Circuit Breaker Manual Switch is good quality that should be durable in harsher environments. I recommend it.

I have a lot of DIY electrical projects. My Jeep Wrangler is not only a toy, but a platform for other toys. I have tons of LED pods, LED strips, whip lights, and a big audio system, just to start. When I saw this one I had to try it.It arrived in a small, plain box, and included just the breaker.This is a rugged little breaker! I have others but the plastic feels cheaper on those. This one feels heavier-duty. It's only a 50 amp, so I'll be using it for my smaller accessories. The latch has a solid click to let you know when it's engaged or released.Overall I'm pleased with this little circuit breaker. I use these more for the disconnect option than for wire safety (I love fuses) but it works double duty, so I'm not complaining.I recommend!
