This device works perfectly for spin and casting reels. And it's metal, not the cheap plastic like some others. It also can pull line off the reel and back onto the original spool which is handy too.

When I first got it, I thought it was a simple, versatile, smart thing.However, after a few months (without actually using it five times), the internal gears of the spooler arm became loose and would not hold the line spool. It would open automatically even with the slightest vibration.Wear and tear on dull, low-durability plastic gears is inevitable. I am very disappointed that it happened after only a few uses.

Worked excellent. Just make sure you don't over tighten on spool. I adjusted it to larger spool of 50lb test to line up 2 reels.Much faster than conventional ways and could be used on the go while on the water. if that need should come up for any reason.

Beautiful packaging suitable for a gift. Very easy to load a conventional reel and it works easy on a spinning reel( takes a minute to insure no twists)Would buy again.
