Even my bigger impact tools get enough air flow through this reel. It's got a spring that it plenty strong enough to fully retract the hose every time, and it's very easy to use. Great quality!

Excellent quality reel as expected from a Goodyear product. I also purchased the whip hose and have been loving the whole setup in watering my planter garden which is spread out all over the backyard.

We purchased two of these air reels and within the first 6 months I have had to conduct 3 service calls to fix problems on the two units. The first problem happened after shortly after they were installed. The hose is so soft that the short section provided to connect into the air line got tangled up around the brass fitting sticking out of the center of the reel as the center section spins when the hose is pulled out or retracks, as seen in the pictures, and one of the hoses got wrapped up in the locking latch and we had to take the side arm loose to get it out. We used a stiff 1/2" hose to keep the center fitting from spinning. The worst part is the brass ferrules on the hose can be pulled off the reel fitting. The air supplied is 145 PSI and we had air leaks at the user end of both hoses first and then at the reels. When the hose was unreeled we noticed that both hose ends had started pulling off the reel fitting causing the air leaks. We used and hose crimped machine at a hose shop to install new ferrules onto the fittings as to the hose specs. I had my doubts that it would last because the hose is so soft, and yet again the one of the hoses is leaking and I have to rent a scissor lift to work on one of the reels. I would not recommend this hose reel unless they change the hose to a stiffer hose wall. I may have to replace both units with a different style hose.

Heavy duty (mine was the dual-arm model L820154G) which I installed at the recommended 10' height for a ceiling mount in my wife's non-commercial greenhouse to replace a Legacy Levelwind which was a maintenance nightmare. Appreciated the quality brass fittings and strong retraction mechanism. However, during the first week's use the retraction spring mechanism somehow managed to disconnect from the hose drum slipping from the metal tabs meant to retain it. I spent the extra bucks for a light commercial hose reel to avoid these problems and so decided to box it up and return for an exchange. Better luck with the replacement.Update: The replacement arrived promptly (thanks Amazon) though this time in just the manufacturer’s packaging. The drum lip was bent slightly but in otherwise new condition. It installed quickly, has no leaks, and exhibits no problems with the retraction mechanism this time. I’ll bump it up only one star out of caution, because the hose has discolored after a couple weeks of sun exposure, and for the considerable effort in having to replace the defective original.
